    Lightweight battery

I haven't noticed the slightest difference to the OEM's start up speed or 1st time consistency.

    Lightweight battery

It probably would work, but do you really want to have the aluminum bracket glued to the battery lip, instead of just glued to the aluminum bracket? Also, depends on the type of double sided tape you plan to use. I don't think it's a matter of the battery's safeness, as they are well insulated...

    Lightweight battery

Yeah, I noticed that also on my first attempt at tightening the bracket, so I figured the Antigravity battery's lower lip is a bit smaller than the OEM lip. I placed a thin strip of self adhesive rubber (not foam) on the inner slanted section of the bracket and that secured the battery firmly...

    📓 Journals Speedy Emira Build

Not even going to attempt to wager that bet. It's like estimating survival chances of a simultaneous muti-organ (heart, liver and kidney) transplant. But, on a more serious note, I'm hoping the patient pulls through.

    10mm hubcentric spacers

You may already know all this or have your own preferred technique, but when installing spacers, I also suggest making sure the 5 threaded bolt holes on the hub are properly aligned/centered with the corresponding spacer holes. Since spacer holes are generally larger than the diameter of the...

Lowering question for GRP (and any others)

Helpful feedback, thanks. In my particular case, I don't plan to ever track it, and I haven't found a single canyon in Florida so far (sadly so). Therefore, my priority by reducing less up front is to maintain reasonable ground clearance and minimize risk of bottom scrapping on those pesky...

    10mm hubcentric spacers

Check out my August 23rd post on the thread entitled "12mm spacers, seems a bit much on front". You'll find the detail on how to go about special ordering the 10mm PCDs. Hope this helps.

    Hello and seeking advice

I've been comparing the Valentine 1 V2 vs. Uniden R7 vs. R8. Not sure if it's a true additional feature, but I've read an article stating that there's an R8W version which also emits a laser jamming signal and I find that very appealing.

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

Wow!, that's the most Emiras I've seen as a pack in the wild. Must have been a great fraternizing event. It's also great to see that your Aussie license plates are more discrete in size vs. our much wider ones here in the States. I'm nevertheless glad that Florida is one of the states not...

Lowering question for GRP (and any others)

Exactly, I figure rear/20mm, front/15mm to reduce and even out a bit more the rear-to-front arch gaps, while simultaneously leveling the car a bit more too. The only doubt I have, is if the reduction in the angle of that forward rake has any detrimental aerodynamic effect, but guessing not...

Lowering question for GRP (and any others)

Hi Folks, Quite a number of members have posted here having installed the GRP Lowering Sleeves. I decided to order them as well and received them fairly quick. I subsequently spoke to Greg who gave me a few helpful pointers on the coil-over removals and sleeve adjustments, but I'm still...

    Hello and seeking advice

I've had detectors in the past, and now once again I've been seriously contemplating getting another. Believe it or not, this past weekend, I got my first speeding ticket in 5 yrs. doing 58mph on a 35 zone on our way to Key West. I asked the trooper if 58mph was also considered speeding on a...

    Hello and seeking advice

To be fair, many (probably most) of the dealers here are multi-brand dealers and their Lotus sales volumes are much less significant than their leading brands. That's certainly the case with my local dealer, Prestige Imports of North Miami, which includes Lotus Miami, but it's kept in good...

    Hello and seeking advice

I'd agree that for a sports car, it's no less relaxing than any other I've driven and, IMO, its two main virtues, among others, that make it a relaxing ride, are the interior's airy greenhouse effect with great forward visibility and the side mirrors which provide such good lateral viewing to...

    Console delete button ?

I hadn't notice it until now, and there's no reference to it in the Quick Guide booklet, but does anyone know the intended use for the covered button located on the right side of the overhead console (across from the SOS button)? Just wondering if there's power wiring/harness behind that cover...

    Loss of interior lights

Interesting... do you mean that your rear view mirror has the 3 Homelink buttons, but they don't operate your garage door, or perhaps you don't have a garage? I happen to also own a car in Europe (Portugal) which happens to also have the rear view mirror with the Homelink system, but was...

    Loss of interior lights

Good point on the glove box light switch as it could very well be that and would be easy for him to check. I had thought about the Homelink possibility, but since Gooner is in the UK, I don't think it's offered there but, I may be wrong.

    Loss of interior lights

Do you have the passenger airbag dissabling switch inside your glovebox, and could the fuse be for that?
  23. crestima

    Loss of interior lights

The glove box switch should be one of two things, the botton that opens the glovebox which opens electrically or the switch that disables the passenger side airbag (unfortunately, US models don't have that option). I'm guessing it actually refers to the opening button for the glove box. Sorry...

    Painted Supercharger Cover Thread

Yes, but I preferred to go the manual route. I have an electric sander, as well as a dremel, but I just preferred to be more precise and be on the safe side by not running the risk of over sanding or acidentally chipping any other part of the supercharger cover. I purchased this kit below on...

    First oil change question

Of the Emiras' break-in oil changes I've seen so far, performed at or below 1k miles, the extracted oil looks practically new, so I'm not on the extreme side of camp B, but I do think 10k miles is too much, particularly for a break-in. Personally, I'm going for 1.5k break-in, 5k for the second...

Removal of fugly warning stickers on Sun Visors?

Yes, the plastic cover just pops out with a pry trim tool. Once you remove the screws that secures the visors to the roof section, they essential pop out as well. In case you haven't done so already, take a look at the pictures posted by one of the members at the beginning of this thread...

Custom Floor mats from Hide and Seam (RHD)

I'm still here hoping for some manufacturer to offer a rubber all-weather mat set for my Emira. However, for those like you, who would like to buy LHD versions of the Hide and Seam mats, the thought crossed my mind of using tracing paper to pencil trace the OEM mats and add a few more inches to...

Removal of fugly warning stickers on Sun Visors?

As Rapture mentions above, the stickers in the US are mandated to be "permanently" fixed by federal regulations, to ensure (or make it practically impossible) to remove them without damaging the visor, so in the US, most of these stickers are practically baked into the visors. I happen to also...

    Disc Scoring?

I think Tomwa is right in that it something like a rock, or metal particle seems to have gotten wedged between one of the 2 brake pads and the disc. I suggest taking both pads out and checking for anything stuck in the pads' section of the scoring perimeter. I haven't taken out the small...

What did you do to your Emira today?

That's odd. Do you have OEM brake pads and rotors? I replaced my OEM with EBC RedStuff, primarily to reduce dust but, frankly, I never experienced a squeal from either OEM or RedStuff sets. On the other hand, my 911's brakes do squeal from time to time, but I suspect that the pads are due to...

Need ideas to fix rattle in headliner

This may be a long shot, but if the loosened screw/metal clip trapped in-between the liner and the roof is ferromagnetic, perhaps you can try move it with a magnet to a spot where it would no longer rattle, or to an edge section of the liner where you can extract it with minimal liner lifting...

Steering Wheel Press-Type Buttons Now Available from GRP!

Make sure you push straight down "inward" on that spring. It took me a few tries as well as initially I thought I was supposed to pull left or right on the spring. Ultimately, it released fairly easily when I pressed inward.
