What did you do to your Emira today?

Hi, You can PM me so we can talk by phone as I can guide you with this. Believe it or not, I did it without removing any of the interior panels, except for the actual pop out rear cover where the seat belt mechanism is located and the seat side plastic trim piece. I can also give you some tips...

    DIY: Floating Console Modification

Couldn't agree more. Many here are greatful for initiatives such as this one by kitkat and despite not being so much in to the skeleton look myself, I can definitely understand why others are. Seems to be a shortage of open-mindedness and diversity of taste tolerance going around these days.

Can someone identify this and what it is for. Thank you

Es mejor mantenerlo envuelto en la bolsita porque creo que esta conectado al sistema electrónico del carro y así evita entrada del agua y potencial corrosion.

Anyone developing a gloss black body kit?

Looks very nice, and I agree that it matches better with the rest of the glossy black trim parts than any version of exposed CF. A couple of questions: By how much does it reduce ground clearance ? and How much farther out does it extend ? Just curious if it'll still clear standard concrete...

That unused wiring loom, I believe is to connect the LIDAR system as part of the Lotus Driver's Assistance package, an option that has yet to be made available.

Steering Wheel Press-Type Buttons Now Available from GRP!

Forgot to mention that the oem haptic modules have 2 tiny torx screws you need to remove and are not needed on the new button modules. You may want to refer to the earlier post of Aug 30th on this thread for further detail on that.

Steering Wheel Press-Type Buttons Now Available from GRP!

In their website, GRP direct's you to their new Steering Wheels' removal/installation for the instructions, but you only need to follow 3 of the initial steps for the button module removal. It's a fairly easy DIY job. The only step that I found to be missing in that pictured instruction is the...

Attaching the Car key to other keys

Cool. I was under the impression that the system only worked in the UK. I'm in Coral Gables, very close to UM.

Steering Wheel Press-Type Buttons Now Available from GRP!

Yes, and the best part, it is avoidance of accidental mode activation that occurs with the OEM haptic version.

Steering Wheel Press-Type Buttons Now Available from GRP!

Installed the replacement left side module today and all is working fine now. My steering wheel's Bi-Polar disorder is now clinically cured.

Attaching the Car key to other keys

I suspected so, but found it odd because patrickramdial appears to be located in Miami (as I am), and isn't the tracker a UK thing only?

Attaching the Car key to other keys

Can't really help you with that, although I see what you're trying to accomplish there. I'd like to have that alternative also, if indeed there's one available. The massive size of the Emira FOB has always bothered me, and the silly string thing to attach key rings also seems inappropriate. I...

Is this foam trim supposed to be on the hood?

Makes sense, and the fact that it's made of foam allows it to soak water, which can't help much to maintain long-lasting adhesion either. I'm not sure if it's actually designed that way (will check on the next opening of the hood), but my foam trim is not wedged in at the edges, rather it seems...

Gated shifter plate for the Emira?

Looks like this vendor is already taking pre orders on an aluminum shifter plate : https://nytop.store/ (search under "Lotus Emira accessories"). Is anyone familiar with this vendor?

    Spacers anybody?

Thanks for the clarification Greg. Admitedly, I had never heard of that technical term. What a coincidence that it's acronym is the same as the UK company's "Professional Custom Design".

    Spacers anybody?

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised that they are ultimately manufactured in China, as most things are nowadays, but what is surprising however, is that the description of the item by Bonoss clearly states "PCD 5x114.3"

    Spacers anybody?

Not quite so as I have PCD 10mm ones currently on my Emira and they are hub centric and no vibration whatsoever.

Flat battery in less than 2 weeks

I have the Antigravity T6/L2 Lithium 40ah, which I purchased from GRP. It's dimensions are a bit smaller than the OEM battery, but it secures well with the existing bracket.

Flat battery in less than 2 weeks

Hey Andy, Yes, this happened to me once too with the OEM battery, and I had to go through the same ordeal to access and recharge it. There's lots of speculation, including my own, about the actual root cause of the battery drain and why it only occurs sporadically. I'm afraid I can't really...

    Spacers anybody?

I don't, but since the spacers appear to be made by PCD, perhaps the best way is to contact them rather than the seller, Bonoss. I obtained my first order from them directly having e-mailed Charlotte at sales@pcdparts.co.uk . She was knowledgeable and very helpful. Here's the contact...

    Spacers anybody?

I just ordered these from the link below. They're made by PCD, a brand that I have purchased in the past. I have another version of PCD spacers currently on my Emira and I never experienced any vibration. The reason I'm switching to these new ones, is mainly because they are lighter weight. I...

    Wide-Angle Side Mirrors?

Thanks for the picture. Just to be sure, is that the reverse side of the mirror with an attached plastic module, or is it part of the plastic side mirror housing to which the mirror attaches?

    Wide-Angle Side Mirrors?

Yeah, I had tried that web page and had the same unsuccessful result. I just sent them an e-mail enquiring about how to order the mirror, so let's see if they respond. Will send a post here with the outcome, if successful.

Swapping steering wheels - possibility and cost?

I'm sure your Lotus dealer would sell you an OEM Leather one, but it's likely not going to be inexpensive. After you take delivery of your Emira, perhaps a more cost effective way (if you prefer the OEM leather steering wheel) is to offer to swap yours with another owner, preferably local to...

    Alcantara Steering Wheels?

Perhaps not so much because it's a fashion statement, but simply a matter of preference of look and feel. I never liked the look or feel of alcantara on steering wheels, although I do like it on trimming and lining, particularly on the interior overhead.

Any way to fix the brake dust?

I also have the EBC reds on, but admittedly with only about 400 miles driven on them. Definitely an improvement with much lower dust production. In my case however, I haven't felt much of a difference on initial bite/travel compared to the OEM.

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

Concur. Also as a 7 year owner of a 911.2 GTS, my biggest gripe with the direction of the model is its progressive size increase and porky-ness. The dimensions of the 991s had already reached my tolerance level, something that was confirmed when I test drove the 992 some three years ago and...

Crazy Question, can I modify the Emira have a removable roof?

Yeah, I did realize it was a 3 wheeler, but couldn't hold back on making my silly comment given the angle of the picture concealing the rear wheel. Congrats on your project.
