Is this correct? The way I see it is that if flippers make money it means there are strong residuals. Strong residuals equals lower ownership cost from new over your period of ownership

This direct model sounds a bit like losing your bargaining power across the board and getting shafted!!

Based on 7 years running a vantage I’m not sure. Appreciate not a super car, but you did mention above. Agree McLaren likely to cost more I think depreciation of the emira will be higher than a 68 plate vantage, but 1/3 the cost for servicing… although uk vantages have an included 5 yr service...

Of course there’s still only been 3 or 4 physical uk cars for sale and one of them has been advertised 3 times and sold once already if the yellow one is the same car…

I think it’s fair to say the new vantage design is an acquired taste! I was so disappointed at the new vantage launch event - the old car was a real thing of beauty in comparison- but it’s grown on me since then.

Definitely a fair bit wider, but similar height and length.

I had the old shape vantage for 7 years, bought 4 years old at about 55% of list. Depreciation 20k gbp over the 7 years. 2 extended warranty claims settled without any argument. Warranty 1500gbp… didn’t bother after year 2 Typical servicing was above 1000, not main dealer. One year was 5k...

There are now 3 on auto trader and 100 is the cheapest You’d think they might get 90 based on the cc auction cost to buyer… but DV is the best colour after all so may fetch more!!

couldn’t agree more @Lotustoronto ! FYI will happily swap for an early new shape vantage, if there’s anyone out there driving one waiting on a ‘24 delivery that wants to move up the queue by over 12 months!

It’s catch22 If the market is strong enough to support flippers it means better residuals and lower TCO… if buying new anyway… Poor residuals mean greater overall cost for the owner, unless it’s a forever car
