For those that know Lotus, get ready for some Sport 160 content! I had another S1 Elise (Norfolk Mustard) before the S160. Time to get back into a Lotus.

Looking at Harry Metcalfe's instagram post, he comments "The Emira order book is overflowing too with nearly 2 years of production already sold." Is this true? So if someone in the UK wanted to put a deposit down now they'd be faced with a c. 2-year waiting list?

So following the £3k second deposit (£5k total at this point), what is the next step of the process Tom, and when should we expect that step to occur?

Very useful to know, thank you. I had wondered! Out of interest, how does it respond when you try and do a double downshift? With a PDK if you flick the paddle twice, it responds and changes down two gears almost instantly, so I just wondered how the Lotus box would perform.

Have a look at some videos of an Evora with the auto box on YouTube, it's helpful for giving you an indication of the speed of the shifts and the blipping!

I went for yellow with grey leather (decided before Shmee announced this as his spec!!). They just said "from May".

I assume the local trimmer won't be able to 100% colour match to the leather colour (in my case Grey)? Won't be the end of the world, and definitely not worth £400 in itself. I'll probably go down that route too with Jamie's contact.

If it helps, I placed my deposit in the evening on 8th July and only got the call on Friday at 4:30pm.

Completely agree, I can't make sense of it either. I can understand perhaps the additional £400 if you're going from the standard leather to the alcantara with the coloured band, but to simply add a coloured band and stitching onto the normal leather wheel for £400 is insane.

Adding to the discussion, is it just me or is the grey leather MUCH darker in real life than it appears on the configurator?

I asked Lotus this question at Bell & Colvill this week and he said it hasn't been officially crash tested yet.

Finally got the call, deposit paid on 8th July at about 8pm. They said a Spring delivery, so it appears I'm in that first batch still, which I guess I didn't expect as there must be a fair few ahead of me.

Interesting...! There has been some changes around the black pack...I remember when the configurator first went live (post FE reveal) and you could either have nothing or the Black Pack. But now it's the LBP as standard, or the BP as an £1200 option. Perhaps something has been lost in...

I was speaking to Scott today about the tailpipes, and he whipped out his "Emira manual", which said that as standard the FE will come with silver tips. If you spec the black pack, that's when the tips turn black. I know, I know...it conflicts with the configurator...and you'd think the "Lower...

Just back from seeing it at B&C. Definitely lived up to expectations, and can't wait to get it. The only thing that's thrown me is the colours. I was dead-set on green but it's simply far too dark for my liking. That means it'll either be the blue (but I imagine this will be so common) or...

Does the speedo screen really look that washed out in real life or is it a camera thing? If it does appear washed out in real life, has anyone at Lotus commented on whether that will be rectified for the production version?
