Quick update on waiting times from order to delivery. Porsche Cayman/Boxster is 12 months.

I have been visiting car showrooms this weekend. I know this is quite a novelty, being able to buy a car in this way. Just to let you know the leed times are Jaguar F Type 3-6 months, Caterham 620r 11 months (about the current Emira timeline), Audi TT 3-4 months. Will ask about Porsche tomorrow.

I have just configured a Caterham 620r and sent it to Oakmere and asked them what the leed time is for delivery. This adds anothr option to my ever growing list.

I am afraid not. They are as much in the dark as we are. They are getting a yellow touring spec car. When, is anyone's guess. I was in Solihull today car hunting.

A Morgan 3 Wheeler? That is extreme. Although, having had 2 Caterhams, i am also considering a 620r. Now that is the sort of car to focus the mind.

I had a look at various Cayman and boxster models. I visited Rybrook Birmingham Lotus and McLaren. Not one Lotus there but 6 McLaren. I have to say i did like the F Type. I will go to Jaguar Shrewsbury tomorrow awell.

Yes it is a stunning car, when sitting in it, the quality shines through. Very good prices for both convertible and coupe new, £15-£20 less than Emira. Today has given me a lot to think about. Many options available to me. I will wait for the test drive of Emira, then make a decision.

Just got back from touring local car dealers. Porsche, McLaren and Jaguar. Very nice cars. Interestingly, if I ordered a Jaguar F Type today, I could expect delivery in 6 months. I think this is slightly quicker than the 3 years I have been waiting for the Emira.🤔

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can guarantee that 135 will not be delivered in the time line as prescribed by Lotus.

Funny you should say that. I am just off out to my local Porsche dealer to see what I can buy, own and drive. I know, a strange concept that.🤣

That is great having sun in Toronto. Unfortunately, as many will know, here in the UK bright sunlight is quite rare, and so for the most part Dark Verdant is effectively just black.

Well said Tom, I think we are on the same page on this. On Saturday I will be visiting my local Porsche dealer to see what is available. Like you I will have a test drive and make a decision.

Always good service from Lotus Silverstone. And as I understand it, other Lotus Centres. I think I would be a different story if dealing with Lotus HQ.

The whole thing needs a massive overall. They should look at the Emira deposit/delivery dates fairy stories/should be on a first come first served basis, the mind blowing lack of information/consistent information. And remind staff that it is the customers who pay there wages, IE no customers...

Yes, I put my deposit down on 5th October 2019, so by the time I get my Emira it will be 3 years. A long time to wait. I have a run about car which im using now, and will continue to use, after Emira arrives, for the more mundane duties. Emira will be used only for track days and fun runs out.

Yes Tom, I remember seeing an interview with Gordon Murray about the designing of the McLaren F1. He said he wanted the steering feel to be as good as the Elan. He said they didn't achieve it. I think this is high praise indeed for our little Elan.
