Quick update from Lotus Silverstone.
Picked up my car post service and software update.
Interestingly I was informed that Lotus HQ was disputing the cost of Lotus Silverstones' warranty claim.
Silverstone have requested for a new door panel as they deem it to be defected. Then paint on the...
Thanks for this! Much appreciated! I am going to leave it for now and let them sort when my car has to go back in....

When Lotus HQ agrees to replace my paint blistering driver door
Just picked up my Emira from Lotus Silverstone last week.
I noticed on Sunday that the Service Counter on the days has not been updated.
Surely it should read e.g service due in 10k miles/365 days
However it has remained the same as when I handed my car in.
Anybody else with this issue??
That is exactly what left me scratching my head on the drive home.
Surely their should be an element of quality control.
It creates another reason to go back to the dealership.... which can be a pain when you are working 6 days a week.
Just picked my Emira up from Silverstone after a software update. No issues before but as soon as I started the Car the SOS warning is there.
Will pick it up with the dealer on Monday.
That's good news!
That's a great resolution except for the wait time.
Lotus Solverstone have asked me to wait till they hear back from Lotus and take it from there.
Atleast I know what kinda time frames I am dealing with.
My thoughts exactly...!!!
I think I'm guna kick off tomorrow....! There's no way I think it's acceptable to sand down the blisters and the paint bubble and spray over it.
I will be absolutely buggered if the paint blisters again in the same area in the future if the warranty has expired.
Interesting update from Lotus Silverstone today.
I dropped off my car this morning for a software update and naturally enquired about how the paint blistering would be resolved.
To my suprise, I was informed they still had not reached a resolution with Lotus HQ in how this matter should be...
No
It only has ceramic coating which was done by the lotus dealer when I bought the car.
PPF was the first question they asked me when I reported the issue to Lotus Silverstone
I am still waiting to hear back from Lotus Silverstone with regards to my door. Last update was that they haven't decided how to resolve the matter as of yet?
I appreciate the sound advice.
I genuinely feel as though my situation will end up in the same way.
I just don't think it's possible to perfectly match and blend metallic paint. The ideal solution surely would be to spray the whole car again!?
If its not a flawless job... My demands will be...
That's my main concern. It will bother me to death if it isn't perfect.
Not quite sure what the best resolution is here?
I contacted my local Lotus Dealership. Their happy to create a warranty claim after seeing the pics.
They haven't stated yet how they will go about rectifying the issue as...
Mines was manufactured October 2022
Thanks to this thread I checked yesterday and under the driver door window there is blistering/bubbling under the paint!
My concern is.... putting on a fresh new door with a metallic colour like nimbus grey via warranty.
You won't regret it! I promise you..... you will keep going out in the evening to just look at the car... start the engine to hear the roar and giggling to yourself... Then walk back into your home 😀
