    Lightweight seats

No sorry, My car is waiting for a part to come from Lotus before I drive it to the dealer. I cant rest the electronics to see if the resistor has worked until I get it to the dealer. So I am a bit stuck.

Official Lotus carbon fiber bits and other upgrades coming for the Emira

Lowering the original seat will be nearly impossible. We did this early test to see what could be achieved with our seats. Using a 6ft driver the Emira seat was sat in the lowest possible position and you can see the gap in the first photo with a 6ft driver. With our B5 at the position shown...

Is it ideal to sit low in these cars ?

I have used mine for 8 months. Miles better than the standard seats. Not a compromise at all in my opinion. To be really critical of my own product, these are the downsides that some may not like over the standard seats. There is more road feel, but not in any way uncomfortable and to me that...

Is it ideal to sit low in these cars ?

Because the runners are integrated there is no way of just lowering the OEM seats and keeping all of the electric functions. I can honestly say after driving around in my B10 seats for 8 months I miss none of the seat functions. After seeing FIA crash tests I know which seat I would rather use...

I think most of the difference will be shipping, import taxes and buffers put in for currency fluctuations. but as much as I would like to, I can't do anything about that right now. I am sorry.

Where the US sales are concerned we would prefer customers to go through one of the recognised dealers such as GRP or Torqued. This ensures that any after sales service such as exchanges, warranty, wrong size etc. can be managed. It's impossible with the carriage rates on large lightweight boxes...

I have contacted Bridge of Weir as I know they supply the leather. They said they would not sell the colours without Lotus approval and put me in touch with Lotus who I emailed and I am waiting on a reply.

We can supply a heater element in the cushion panel in for £50 extra + UK VAT per seat. It would not be a plug and play setup as we would be using the heater pad that we supply to Caterham. Any wiring in would be the customers responsibility. I don't know if it could be made to work with the...

    Lightweight seats

I don't think you will need the heaters as using the seats will make your heart beat faster. We install seat heaters in the seats we make for Caterham, so you could have them fitted to the B10XL special order but we don't offer a plug and play system, so it would need wiring in. Costs for one...

We do use their leather so I will do that. Thanks for the info.

A yellow leather stripe will certainly be possible. I am not certain that we have bright yellow in Dinamica, which is the auto grade faux suede we use. With that light a colour it's probably more practical on a day to day basis in leather anyway. Just for your information. The Lotus style three...

    Lightweight seats

The Emira trim match question has already been raised numerous times by potential customers. The exact leather colour and grain is going to be needed and a debate is going on as to whether or not we will keep the various hide colours in stock. Of course our upholstery department could always...

We have made the new Emira brackets so that you can also use our PTRi adjustment runners under them. We will supply it as a complete package because there are various other parts needed to get the setup to work nicely with the OEM seat belts.

It just denotes the widest point of the B10XL. We also do an edge cut version of this same seat so that you can fit them in a car with zero space like the Elise/Exige.

    Lightweight seats

I am totally bias of course but I do use my car as a daily and to me they are way more comfortable than the 12 way adjustable shopping car seats put in as standard. The Lotus seats gave me a bad back after two hours of driving. This is because they allow your lower spine to wallow in the soft...

    Lightweight seats

I've got my seats in my Emira and it transforms the vehicle. B10XL-48.5 with Emira themed trim trim and our soon to be released specific Emira bracket and runner setup. 30 kg's saved overall but it can be more if the B7 or B9 are used. I should have the prices soon and then I will release it...

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

I will do with pleasure once I’m certain of what I am saying. I have put the recommended resistors in the recommended pin holes but the car needs a reset which I will get done when it goes into the dealer for its first service soon.

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

I can’t reserve any seats. I’m semi retired now, I’m now banned from the historical “interfering Steve production disruption”. The office needs to have an official order emailed to them to reserve a production spot. They are back in the New Year and you can contact them by emailing...

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

Thanks for your interest. We finally got around to testing the brackets so now it’s a case of pricing up the trim options. I’ll have more info in the new year, when all the metal parts which are needed for the bracket assembly are delivered to us. If you are sure that you will buy them it...

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

Van Der Kooi Sportscars have managed to cancel the airbag lights using resistors. They have given me guidance on how to do this but I must admit I've still not done this myself yet and when it comes to electrics and deleting airbags we do not advise.

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

I have been told which resistor to use and where by Van Der Kooi Sportscars who have done it but have not done it myself yet.

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

We tested the seat belt attachment points and they passed, so I am about to order up the parts to make an Emira bracket and runner pack. I have yet to price the matching panels but of course the B10XL-48.5 seats with standard panels are available now for ordering. It should be noted, we do have...

We have now tested the brackets so it’s only a matter of time before your wish is granted.

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

Thanks for that info, I will contact them. I did buy some resistors but I fear messing up electronics and as the car was working fine I just left it.

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

No sorry. Not yet, I’ve been too busy. The car goes back to the dealer for updates soon. I’ll talk to them about it. I am still using the car by using the well worn method of not looking at it.

    JUBU Emira 500 Power upgrade

They are trialling that now in London. Big brother ANPR cameras everywhere. People have had enough and are cutting them down.

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

When the B10 XL’s seat are put in the lowest position in the Emira they are too low for most. You would need to be 6 ft 9 inches. At the moment I have them in the highest position in the brackets and they are still lower than OEM. The seats themselves can be ordered now. I am still finalising...

Seating Position - How do you find it?!?

You don't have to code the fault out. Everything works fine with the seats just unplugged. Obviously you have the warning lights on about the airbags but I am continuing to look at how we get around this. It's not in your face or annoying, so It does not bother me personally. I would rather have...

Seating Position - How do you find it?!?

It is, I can't begin to tell you what a difference taking those seats out made. Any thoughts that this car has been dumbed down as a true sports car are gone once you are not floating around on foam.
  33. Steve Tillett

Seating Position - How do you find it?!?

That’s where our seats will help. Your head would drop three inches lower for the same chest angle. I’m 5 ft 10 and like to sit low but had to make a different bracket with an extra hole higher to get the B10 to sit the seat high enough for me. I know it’s more money but it is a solution to the...

Seating Position - How do you find it?!?

I thought that. All the way home from Lotus I though my drivers door mirror motor was broken until I realised it was at the limit of adjustment. I've got used to it now and it doesn't bother me but ideally the mirror could do with moving out a bit more.
  35. Steve Tillett

Seating Position - How do you find it?!?

I had issues with the seat too. I was always going to swap to my seats eventually but I have a bone condition and the impossibility to get a position that did not give me a back ache after about an hour made it more important to get it done. The main issue with the seat is the foam is all too...

    Has anyone weighed the seats?

Easily, a regular suitcase will even fit. The seats are much more compact than the originals so there is far more space. .

These are the two plugs connected under the seat. Sorry I forgot the ruler. I can do them again if important. These are the plugs on the seat itself.
