Who's driven a MT Aston Martin Vantage? Looking for feedback.

You HAD to bring up the F1 team. Now you are just depressing me!

Who's driven a MT Aston Martin Vantage? Looking for feedback.

Stroll’s been talking about the new lineup for over a year. The problem is that he is so prone to hyperbole that I don’t think anybody has any clue what to expect. In short he as said, “Aston won’t make any more cheap crappy cars and the new cars will be the ultimate ultra luxury brand...

Who's driven a MT Aston Martin Vantage? Looking for feedback.

I’ve driven the AMR manual and the best part about it was saying the word “dogleg”. Other than that I found it clunky and meh. I’m glad I got the auto for this particular car. I’ll say I liked the Emira manual better the Vantage. I usual don’t have an issue with stick cars. I adapt rather...

Who's driven a MT Aston Martin Vantage? Looking for feedback.

I live in CT. As we know with Astons, depreciation is a bit much so I bought my car second hand with 2000 miles on it. Like Porsche, when you know what options you want and are picky, finding the right spec second hand is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I ended up buying my car in...

Who's driven a MT Aston Martin Vantage? Looking for feedback.

Here’s my Aston. Not really a fan of taking car photos although I enjoy looking at others. It’s cinnabar orange and is very hard to capture. Overall I think the lines of the new Vantage are hard to capture in a photo. In real life, the cars have a lot of presence and the grill is more subtle...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

First, it’s nice to see some good reviews about the Vantage. I own a “ new” Vantage and for three years have seen pretty much nothing but people hating it on the Aston forums. Typical for forum fanboys. They bitch about pretty much anything that’s new or changed. The whining clearly gave me a...

    No More I4 First Edition?

When I saw that I thought it was a bit peculiar. Not sure why steel in one case and aluminum in the other. Maybe they had a bunch of left over Evora parts for the V6, LOL.

Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

I guess I’m sticking with the Emira because the alternative of deciding between a Yaris and Aston just seems nucking futs to me.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

I don’t see the costs comparable in the US. First, the FE has three years of no repair costs because of the warranty. A McLaren will have rather high repair costs here. I have an Aston and I would say , on average, Aston repair costs are 2x that of my Porsche. I think MCLaren are in the same...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

So far, it seems that most guys who drive the sports chassis find it quite satisfactory. Not hearing a lot about it being too firm, harsh or uncomfortable. As I mentioned previously I drove the touring and found it great for the road. Not too soft. Looks like you can’t go wrong either way...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Personally, I find that 30-70 or 30-100 is where my butt dyno feels the difference in cars. 0-60 doesn’t really enter the calculus much in my daily driving. The combination of torque and gearing is hard to judge strictly from the numbers. E.g. I was disappointed in a 2016 Porsche Spyder...

Do I change colour now the delays have extended? Help needed!

It’s a completely true story in the “ Hollywood” sense. I.e. it’s not even remotely true but no one cares as long as it’s entertaining. And yes…I completely ripped you off on the story line but…well..that’s Hollywood too, I guess. Finally, you are dating yourself..nobody wears underwear...

Do I change colour now the delays have extended? Help needed!

Well, Here’s the actual version. Inspired by a true life story. Him: playing myself “ I’ll pick you up at 8. Wear something yellow so you match my car. Purple works too” Her: future wife “Great, I have just the thing to wear. What color are your calipers “ Him: “ Red with black wheels.”...

Do I change colour now the delays have extended? Help needed!

I went with the blue because I have had three yellow cars in the past but never a blue car. In addition, I have a preference for metallic over solid colors. I think the yellow is a great color and would have been a no brainer if I hadn't owned yellow cars in the past. I think you should go...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I test drove an Evora GT prior to test driving the Emira. Not back to back on the same day but a few months earlier. The brand new Evora crapped out after a mile or so and we limped back to the dealership. I would say by that benchmark the Emira made a very good showing.

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I found it interesting that when Harry spec’d out his car, on a video, after going around the track, he chose the sport suspension. He commented on how well it behaved and didn’t really have that jarring firmness he might have suspected. I never saw when he changed to touring. Just a follow...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I hope you get to try out the sport suspension. I also expect my car to be primarily used on backroad twistiest and ordered the sport suspension with Goodyear tires. ( I’m in New England so wanted something more flexible for the wet and chilly days) I test drove the touring chassis. I thought...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I was able to finally take an Emira test drive and thought I would post my thoughts about the experience. The car I drove had the touring suspension, was Nimbus Grey with the red leather interior. It was a short 15-20 minute drive but got a decent variety of roads, including highway and back...
