    Non-Haptic steering wheel buttons

AWESOME!! I've been accidentally doing all sorts of unintended button swipes. Which is ironic: I'm unable to use modern car controls, but I think I'm able to remove an explosive airbag to install antiquated buttons I can use! :) M

So disappointed with Zinc grey ...

Side note: a color very close to zinc grey is now the base (and free) color for new Harley Davidsons. Black, for the first time, will cost extra. M

    Painting the shifter knob markings

Actually, a gap-filling CA glue (Superglue) would be better for permanently filling in the numbers with clear. M

    Painting the shifter knob markings

I was thinking about doing this. I have air-cure (as opposed to oven-cure) Cerakote in black and red, among other colors. Cerakote is used primarily for firearms and is very long-lasting and heat resistant. Mateo

    New badging

I love that emblem! I swapped my stock yellow out for black and silver. I wish I could find JPS badges. The yellow nose looks confusingly like a Ferrari badge on the Emira. I'm very proud that it's not a Ferrari. IMHO the Emira is what Ferrari should be making as a new Dino. But they're...

Where is the horn in the Emira?

@LuckysDad Where does that info come from? I couldn't find it in any PDF I could search for. Thanks again, Mateo

Where is the horn in the Emira?

Is it the same as the alarm for security? Or are there two noisemakers? I'm looking to upgrade. Thanks.

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Not a great foto, but I have a grey NSX-T in addition to my Nimbus Grey Emira. Two great cars. (As are the '35 Ford and Mercedes 560SL, but those are very different.) I might choose the Emira over the NSX if I had to! Mateo

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

I was looking for a video too before I did it. I think it's so simple that no one bothers recording it. If you do it, I'd encourage you to take a video. Simply loosen the rearmost bolts on the rear undertray. You will only have 5 a gap inches high or so, but it's enough. The Milltek can...

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

It's not a dumb question at all. It's an understandable concern. In the US, consumers of automobiles are protected by the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It gives us the right to use non-original parts without voiding factory warranties. This comes into play a lot for aftermarket exhausts...

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

I'd agree, but they don't complain about the Harleys' noise. They just don't think the Emira needs any more. I think it does... Mateo

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

Not yet. I ordered a pipe, but I haven't decided if I need it. I have two Harleys, one a 1200cc Sportster 48 and one a 1850cc Softail. Both have aftermarket exhausts and are rather loud, yet my wife and son insist that the Emira is loud enough with just the Milltek. M

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

It's American slang for 8 thousands of an inch, 0.008", or 8 mill. I never use it because it's confusing if someone else is using millimeters. I was just kidding around. :) M

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

Completely worth it. And quite simple to do. I did it just last week with the car on the ground. Use (I think) a #6 or #8 Torx bit to loosen the rearmost bolts. It's an easy plug and play. I simply zip-tied the cables to the mesh grille behind the license plate. I really took my time and...

What tire pressure are you running?

Everyone measures tire pressures cold. Except here. :) Mateo

What tire pressure are you running?

Just because my Emira shows tire pressure to the tenth of a PSI doesn't mean it's accurate to within a tenth of a PSI. When I have more free time, I'll measure the car's reading against a really good pressure gauge. And do it cold. Matt

What tire pressure are you running?

I've never heard of checking tire pressure hot. Is this a Lotus thing? How do you know how hot the tire is? Matt

I installed the Milltek exhaust valve controller. Fairly easy to do and completely worth it! Third cat bypass is next up. Matt

How to remove the nose badge

I should have taken more pictures. But I took the important one: what the nose looks like without the badge in place. Any emblem, original or ORM replacement, has an adhesive backing and two plastic pins. It's very easy to remove. While they are tradition emblem removers, I can't see how...

    Carbon fiber bits

Are there any "forged" carbon fiber pieces available, especially for the interior? The classic CF weave is looking (to me) really dated. The forged stuff, as seen on Lamborghinis, looks organic and flows better and is in harmony with the Emira's design. The weave was on my Dad's very old M3...
