The next car that is due soon (Emira R) will be based on the 4 cylinder. Remains to be seen one they do with the V6, personally I’m happy with the power for what I use it for it’s perfect. Sound needs to be better but hoping to sort that.

I think they’ll bottom out for a bit personally. Long term i4 will continue to drop, V6 MT will be more likely to hold especially as it’s unlikely to continue in the long run

It needs action, it’s a known problem and customers have been short changed when changes to paint warranty. Owners deserve to know that it will need looked after for a reasonable period beyond 3 years to protect resale and outlay.

Great point - red flag I would make resolving the paint issue a condition of sale personally. It’s your call but I would sit and think whether you want that hassle and whether you really want that car vs another at a dealer that has more passion for customer service.

Buying a pre-reg with delivery miles is for all intents and purposes brand new especially if you’re saving 30-40% you have to be rich or financially irresponsible to buy brand new from factory.

Cayman GTS is around £20k lower in the UK when you put the extras on both. £100k plus is too much for a lotus factoring in the poor dealer network, reliability, extended warranty. I paid £63k with 700 miles and 6 months so I feel I got a bargain. No chance I’d buy new though

Thank you for doing this and for sharing, the reality is that there is enough evidence here to validate that this is an inherent problem. Infact I suspect you would have no problem getting a dealer to confirm this in writing. One told me 70% plus of the cars they had sold suffered paint issues.
