NFU Mutual are always good and they have the best customer reviews for dealing with a claim if the worst happens

Emiras advertised for sale on other sites

It's a shame you had to sell it due to your circumstances but at least you made a few quid for the hassle. 👍🏻 I guess if the dealer can sell it to someone for around £90k and sell finance on it and get a PX out of the deal then it may stack up for them but it sure seems like a fairly risky...

Emiras advertised for sale on other sites

It's probably a mix of flippers as well as people with a change of circumstances, who want to make a few quid to cover their 18 month wait for the car. My guess is that most flippers will be out now as the 'overs' don't warrant the risk but I'm sure they'll still be a few depositors that no...

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

Calling the unimportant OG Lotus owners 'legacy' owners is a bit of an oxymoron!

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

A wrap is heat applied and much thinner but more flexible in the application..but more prone to stretching if applied badly. Also, wrapped cars are a bit more like a car with a bad orange peel effect and the clarity is washed out. It will also chip easier and does not 'self heal' like PPF

Call from Lotus to receive an Emira FE 1 year earlier !

I asked Lotus just before I switched from privacy to non-privacy and they confirmed that the tint is in the glass and not film.

Gutted - Spec totally wrong on checkout email

Thanks mate! In the panic I went hunting through my junk mail and I actually managed to find an updated link code that hadn't seen, so all appears to be ok! 👍🏻

    Lotus cancelled my order

I doubt anyone needed to dob you in, it's pretty easy to work out who's selling their car based on spec, location and the fact that only 50 UK cars have gone out the door so far!

Really, sorry to hear that! Now you've got me worried!! I made a few changes too and they confirmed them via email but my configurator link has always remained in my original spec...

Yep, I also had an Impreza RB5 tuned to 330bhp, and that was a quick car at the time. And look where we are now....400bhp is considered slow 😂

I drive like I'm on a track most of the time anyway 😅, so the power delivery from the Emira should suit me well! I think (and hope, I'm right to think) that the point many people may be missing with the Emira is, that it doesn't have to feel eye popping'ly fast to be enjoyable once it's on the...

Emira For sale - Touring chassis, Seneca [SOLD]

I'm guessing you're the car advertised for £89,995, which I would think is a fair price anyway. Can't you SOR it so it appeals to people that don't understand that you don't need a dealer to finance a car?

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Agreed! But I'm not sure any manual, RWD car is going dazzle anyone, off the line. Well, not in the UK anyway as it's wet most of the time 😂

I'm out - the cancellations thread

My GT4 never felt that quick to me....more urgent than quick and the power delivery was linear, much like the Emira but with the high redline it did come alive after 5000RPM. But....the GT4 had such long gears that you never got out of 2nd/3rd so I'm hoping the Emira will be a decent middle...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

There were no rev restrictions on my test drive and nothing got much more dramatic later in the rev range. That being said, I'm still buying mine as I didn't expect it to feel or be hugely quick anyway!
  22. D

I'm out - the cancellations thread

I don't think it would've made a difference, as the 'feeling' of going fast seems to be more related to the torque you're getting from the BMW's turbo'ed engine rather than linear power from the Emira. Not that I think the Emira is particularly fast either BTW! 😂

    The perfect storm It’s coming

Read it but it just states the obvious. The article even points out that you can hand the car back once 50% is paid. The only issue people will have is that they may not have equity in the vehicle to take out another new car PCP at the end of the term, and that the interest rates on newer...

Just google Financial Times PCP and it lets you read it. It did for me anyway!

    The perfect storm It’s coming

Exactly this! My point was more relating to others that were suggesting there's a PCP time bomb! As long as people pay their monthly's on the PCP until either the contract ends or they pay 50% of the loan off, then they are totally secure from any fluctuation in the valuation of the vehicle.

    The perfect storm It’s coming

Anyone can terminate their PCP contract after 50% of the total amount payable has been paid. This is referred to as voluntary termination, which is a legal right covered under Section 99 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
  32. D

    The perfect storm It’s coming

Surely the whole point of a PCP is to offer protection to the consumer. As long as you've paid at least half of the agreed loan back then you can just hand the car back at any time.

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

For me, the seats were fine. Not outstanding in any way but at the same time they didn't even register as a consideration on my test drive so they can't have been bad. If I was driving it without a chaperone then I think I would probably have felt the need for some better side bolstering, so...
