    Harry sells his Emira

Yes of course, new they were a £250k+ car so in pure cash terms they are only comparable as long as you don't mind a 10 year old car vs a new one, My insurance was less with the Mac, road tax is more and service costs so far about the same. As a weekend toy they are also both comparable, similar...

    Harry sells his Emira

In the UK a 650s is very similar in cost to a new Emira. My Emira was going to be around £84k and my 650s was only £3k more than that. Always the risk of a big bill with a supercar but so far so good. I was parked next to an Emira at a car show last weekend and the Emira still looks epic.

    New Jayemm Emira video

It's what he does really, tries to give a general feel of how he feels, he loves a clickbait title as well. Without more internal knowledge, hard to give a detailed objective discussion and probably not as entertaining. These Youtubers are about entertaining for the clicks ultimately.

    New Jayemm Emira video

I seriously doubt it. Many of us who were early orderers and lived the excruciating pain of the total lack of regular information, lies and delays far in excess of what was acceptable even with Covid; fed back in considerable detail verbally, in writing and finally though cancelling. Since the...

    Harry sells his Emira

Just popped in to see the reaction to Harry's vid. Nice to see Harry following my example ;-) although I never quite got to the ownership stage as I cancelled my i4 early this year. I purchased from Thorney with their warranty and the car has been epic. Done about 1400 miles since April and...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Yes, I have found out this is a bit of a faux pas with supercars. Never post pics with the lift engaged. My drive has a steep curb so logic told me to leave it up so I don't forget and scrape carbon splitter etc. Must remember to only post pics in the lowered position.

My Emira alternative was picked up today. Very happy with it but still a little regretful on the Emira. Also by strange coincidence the 4 week wait to get my deposits refunded by Lotus finally resolved today, just as I was making the final payment for the 650s. I will for sure keep popping in...

    i4 Insurance

I appreciate the troubles with Admiral recognising the i4 but I had a chat with them about my 650s today and saved £200 going multicar even when my wifes car is not due for another 6 months. Could be worth trying as Admiral were the cheapest on the Emira for me as well.

    Race to the first i4

I don't have the space or money for two sports/super cars sadly. I do have a little regret as I was i4 all along and for the reasons you are all talking about. My plan was the Emira for a couple of years then into McLaren. I could just reverse it, and get the Emira after a couple of years. Maybe...

As the OP, I am so delighted to see closure on this with the first owners taking delivery of their i4/Emira Turbo today. Many congrats and enjoy your cars, I shall be living vicariously through you all. The irony is that mine was delivered a week ago to the dealer and I could be picking up this...

    i4 Insurance

I am going through limited or no no claims with admiral currently. As I have been a company car driver for over 25 years Admiral do not recognise my company car driving clean history. That said when I spoke to them they applied a new insurer discount and gave me the equivalent of 5 years no...

UK Private Plate for sale GC 10TUS

Hi All I bought a personal plate GC10 TUS but as I will be in a McLaren rather than a Lotus in the near future, it makes little sense. I will sell for the price I paid from the DVLA £599, not looking to make a profit just move it on. PM if you are interested. Equally not interested in low ball...

    i4 Insurance

I would suggest that the i4 has only just appeared on the insurers list. When I last looked it up a couple of months ago I had to use the v6 Emira as the i4 was not yet a selection choice. It might improve rapidly as they start getting delivered. I would also call the insurers direct and try to...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Beautiful. I went for the 650s partially because of the active ride. Yes more to go wrong and the accumulators are a consumable to some degree but the ride in normal mode is sublime, leave it in auto and it gives a lovely GT feel if you need to get some miles in. Then sport or track to sharpen...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

I have done a lot of research. The rods are fine on stock power, I am not into modding. I will be getting a warranty and buying through a McLaren specialist, they are independent only and hour from me and have a great reputation looking after the cars. I am buying used and the cost is only £3k...

    Race to the first i4

Yeah I could not run to a new 650s (well they stopped making them a while back) and with all the carbon options on the one I am buying list would have been nearly £300k. Mine dates from 2015 and cost about £3k more than my Emira would have.

I finally bailed on the Emira, never thought I would do this. Not ruling out looking again in a couple of years at a used one or maybe a higher performance version but for me the future is a Mantis Green 650s. Good luck to you all and I will look in occasionally.

Yeah, it is scary but getting a Thorney warranty helps and regular service costs are comparable to the Lotus quoted costs. Actually cheaper to insure for me at £530 that the Lotus at £670.

Nope, he did it in his earliest years in Karting and in atmo cars long before he got into a turbo. It is his technique and it probably had benefits in turbos but that is not why he developed it.

That was a Senna thing, several references to it out there, very odd and hard to see how it worked but he certainly made it work for him. Interesting analysis here

It is probably not just paperwork for such a delay. Likewise I don't think it is an emissions failure as such, more likely they submitted based on one set of numbers and it did not hit those numbers and they have top either resubmit or make a change to the car. All spedculation on my behalf of...

It absolutely is about the AMG i4 engine. I suspect it is something to do with legal permissions similar to the US CARB situation. Maybe it failed an emissions test or fell short of a target. Nothing has been publically admitted by Lotus or to any of us who recieved (eventually) phone calls...
