    Depreciation/Appreciation on New Lotus Emiras

yes you have to start somewhere, but WBAC at this juncture is 100% irrelevant as no one will be taking their car to them or buying a car from them. Its clear there is 0% depreciation as of now and until we have an actual add of a car for sale, we cannot realistically report any rise or fall in...

Haha. I may be born in the 70s but not quite stuck there. If we look at all porsche cars then most are macans and larger brother. So yes autos for an SUV Lost 718s are bought by old men and women so again same logic But go for sports cars and no it’s no where near 95%. We will agree to...

Steering pump issue on early cars - warranty recall

in this case for sure its not a specific "Emira" part..... its a Geely type part.... as they swapped many Toyota type parts for cheaper, lower quality (according to Toyota employee) Geely parts. WE need to wait and see when a head light needs replacing... or something more specific to the...

Steering pump issue on early cars - warranty recall

Moderator edit: copied from other thread and edited Servo steering pump added to mental list for the moment, and while you may think not a big deal, it is a very big deal if you have to drive 6/8 hours each way to get it fixed and also stay over night. Estimated cost to you, about 3/400 euros...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

interesting...especially the back ache? I used to get this in the 235 way porsche seats, which were meant to be great, but never worked well for me, especially in the paddle shift, hence not using my left leg. Worrying build quality, shame you have no fotos, but its something people need to...

Understood and all valid, I just imagine the upgrade would not have been quite as severe had you just stepped out of a 410/430. Im not trying to defend the Evora at all, just being fair.... something, to be fair, I dont generally do :). Great colour And why do you have a hose pipe wrapped around...

SO much better?? Which Evora did you have and bearing in mine this car is now 200 kilos heavier and a bit less powerful, how do you find it better apart from fit and finish? Glad you are happy with it, thats the main thing....

Yes thats right and, I dont know, and I am not going to find out, but quite possibly Ricardo's engine comes from someone else ultimately..... I mean, the most popular "Rover" "Jaguar" and I dont know what else they were put in engine, came from a US block... cant even remember if it was...

Anyone driven the M139 (AMG A45 etc)?

You will probably find the cost to develop an engine runs into 100's of milliones and even a billion as crazy as it sounds. One that is efficient enough to comply with regulations etc. This is why there is so much sharing of costs even with the big car companies, Mazda, ford, Renault...

First offer of a "second hand" Emira from a country with no luxury tax (spotted by me)

ok sure... if you want a porsche.. unlike in the UK, you can generally get a discount in Spain, hence shop around.. or if you actually get serious and can afford to wait, let me know and I will put you in touch with the "right" dealer.. but if you want something now.. or soon.... well best of...

First offer of a "second hand" Emira from a country with no luxury tax (spotted by me)

Porsche Spain are having their best year ever and no cars to be had at all. Certainly not cancelled orders. No lotus dealer in madrid and no new cars to be ordered from barcelona either. If no interest in the emira in Spain then I clearly misunderstood why you would want to import one there

First offer of a "second hand" Emira from a country with no luxury tax (spotted by me)

Well yes in theory... but if it was in your thoughts really to get an emira for here.... I still think I would order in Spain and pay 120 odd k for a new one .... you can also use it in the UK... not a big deal ..... im still not 100% sure I will keep my spanish car due next month...ish...

First offer of a "second hand" Emira from a country with no luxury tax (spotted by me)

I dont know much but I do know that...yes.... depends which part of spain, but the registration tax is about 16% on top of the imported value. The imported value is set by tables or the invoice. Add to this the paperwork, other smaller taxes, plates etc... probably another 1-1200 euros. So buy...

First offer of a "second hand" Emira from a country with no luxury tax (spotted by me)

IF the car has been registered in Germany, which you assume it has, the exporting to ANY other EU country does not just imply a registration tax, very high in NL and 16% in Spain, but it ALSO implies paying sales tax on top!!! 21% in Spain and possibly as high or higher in NL? Until the car has...

📓 Journals New car is here, well worth the wait.

Initially I thought it was a design effect..... I would be covering that with gaffer tape once I remember how to count to 1 2 3 4 5 ... or maybe a little wrapping on top. Im not a fan of the gear lever actually. Had it in the Elise and its not bad, but I'd prefer wood or maybe even more...

interesting question... but I think, unless I am mistaken, even if you go for factory delivery, you still choose a dealer for servicing etc so I think that may answer your question. If the dealer is willing to come get your car, then great.... if not, as they also view it as too far.....then...
