33 and busting my ass since I was 18 so its been a long time coming. Bought 1 of my dream cars already and now onto the 2nd. Yes I could have bought more Tesla stock but we are all gonna die soon. Life is meant to be enjoyed
You'll likely get flamed for being realistic but you are 100% right. It's slow and you have to spend over $10,000 on the Evora to make it what it should be. Komotec 475, corrected gearing and final drive.
expect a lot of delusional...
The length people will go to make up excuses for the Emiras and Lotus's short falls are sad. Not only can Lotus not take criticism (Chris Harris will tell you this) But neither can its fans or helpers. Keep defending Lotus instead of calling them out and it will result in the brand continuing to...
@TomE I don't think anyone is canceling their order based on a single let down. It's more so that this car is being marketed as a something different and its not. The same thing with the brand as far as customer service. It's all the same. They had how many years to do these things and the talk...
@Leonard rev match doesn't exist on the aftermarket. Only heel toe rev match ( it only rev matches when you hit the brake) and it would certainly void lotus's warranty. I'm sure the car will have electrical issues to be begin with so it's best not to complicate things more
@TomE that's a shame. Lotus keeps letting us down. For the first time I'm highly considering canceling my deposit. From the oversights like these to the complete lack of transparency. If I were to be called today to lock in my deposit I would no doubt cancel. I can't believe I went from the...
I hope for the brands sake it sounds good but I'd bet my deposit it sounds just as every other 4 cylinder turbo engine ever made. If you like pops and crackles with lots of attention the 4 cylinder emira will be perfect for that
@Leonard upgraded gears and FD are big on the Evora too. Only so much you can do with the power on either platform and gearing is a safe and relatively cheap way to fix it.
The Emira won't be as effected as other cars due to lack of tech but I would be very surprised if I get to drive my car in decent weather this year. High probability I will be driving my Emira for the first time in 2023 and I'm #1 at my dealer.
I don't know where you're getting your numbers from but the Emira is 4 inches wider with the mirrors folded and 12 unfolded (1895mm &2092mm vs Cayman 1801mm). It's also 2 inches lower while being the same length.
The Carwow guy will just drag test it in the rain. I'll take Harry or The smoking tire personally. The Emira on Angeles crest highway will be a telling review.
Not that I care but if you get a FE Emira with a manual for MSRP I honestly don't think you will see any depreciation at any point. Now in these crazy times it might not keep up with inflation. But it won't sell for less than its original MSRP.
@Green just like anything you need to find a competent installer. PPF + CC should be a no brainer for everyone unless they plan on selling the car in a couple years.
This will be my first manual sports car and I'd get the auto if it was a getrag dct or equivalent but it's a very antiquated unit, especially for a car that isn't even on sale yet. For that reason I bought a manual daily and will drive it until the Emira comes for practice.
In the Harry's Garage video when they brake hard for the chicane he very quickly shifts down 3 gears with perfect rev matching. That guy is a pro driver so I'm sure he's capable of it but it was what I would expect in an auto rev matching car.
