I think the sound deadening material made a difference. The door part was only a fraction of the effort. The wire tap was the tougher part. It is a small space. You could always go back and add it. I just bought a cheap product on amazon.

The difference is a lot more than 1.5dB. I tapped the mids, not the tweeter feed. No need to "correct". It sounds right this way. My buddy listened. He said it sounds way better than his old C5 with an external amp and subwoofer. I do need an audiophile to check me on this.

I agree in theory. But in practice, they really sound right without them. That's why I mentioned it. It was a fail connecting the right way. No where near blowing up.

Yes. They barely fit through the opening. They are reasonable snug with foam push in behind. No glue.

I added some tweeters to my Emira. While I had the door panel off, I added sound deadening material to the inside of the door, and to the inside of the plastic that holds the 3 inch driver. I used an Alpine Tweeter. The end result is great. But the path there is a bit weird. I've done...

Thanks. I was almost going to drop it off at a local car audio place. I'll give this a shot first. I think I'm going to try so tweeters too. They have a crossover. It look pretty easy to connect those to the wires going to the door. I just need to trace back from the speaker.

I was going to try some soundproofing in the door. Does anyone know how to get the door panel off?
