    Everyone's Mod Priority List

I wanted to do laser jamming, but even though I live in a state with remarkably few laws (Tennessee) where I can still have passengers with an open container in the vehicle, laser jammers are specifically illegal. It's weird. Incidentally, @Pegasi , what system did you go with? And is...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

And most of us (including me) have driven both...which is why we have an Emira. I do not have any hate for a Porsche, they're great vehicles, but if that's what I wanted I would have bought that instead and saved myself a 3-year wait.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that, and that's horrible. I did not realize it was that high for our neighbors up north. Even with the exchange conversion from CAD to USD, that's quite a bit. I'm also grateful for my $35 (USD) personalized plate.

Emira V6 Maintenance Schedule -Official from dealer

Hmm...That seems somewhat fiddly from reading the LT thread, especially with the part about priming it without the official Lotus tool. Thank you for the info; I had no idea that filter was a thing.

Emira V6 Maintenance Schedule -Official from dealer

Some things. Fuel, guns, etc. Maintenance on cars from the UK? Not one of those things! 😅 (Source: I have been afflicted with a variety of cars from that side of the pond, and the cost of the brake job for my Jaguar XJR would have purchased four quite nice AR-15 rifles.)

Agreed. I settled for Hethel Yellow because I couldn't get Krypton Green, the color I had always wished my Elise had been painted.

    Reliability for long road trip?

I did 1000 miles in 72 hours with nary an issue. I did keep an OBDII reader with me, but never needed it. Now I'm about 2500 miles and still trouble-free.

Driving experience: Which cars is it most similar to?

I've heard a first-gen NSX, but I have never driven one so that is anecdotal from a guy I met at a road rally. For me it's a mix. I've felt bits of lots of cars from my past, from the turn-in of my old Bertone X1/9 to the power delivery of the supercharged 6 in the F-Type. The ride/handling...

Why no Sport Mode during 1,000 mile break-in?

The updated owner's manual disagrees with you. The original manual did not have this, but the update does and I read it in mine.

Why no Sport Mode during 1,000 mile break-in?

I followed it to the letter, and did not hit sport mode until 1001 miles. It's probably silly, but I figured perhaps it had to do with fuel richness for the exhaust pop mapping or something similar and it would be better not to risk it if they went to the trouble of specifying it. So I did the...

    Car Capsule Protection ??

Car Capsules are plastic, so I'm not sure I would put a heater in there. That sounds like a dangerous plan. However, a dehumidifier might work...The dehumidifier would have to be powerful enough to dry the air at a higher CFM than the capsule was losing it, but that could work.

    Car Capsule Protection ??

My former company was a Car Capsule vendor. I would say they are very good at preventing dust from settling on a vehicle, and that is their primary intended purpose. They maintain a positive pressure, so potentially encroaching dust floats elsewhere. Most aluminum corrosion (aside from...

Might be the first windshield replacement in the US 🏆😭

In my group drive a couple of weeks ago I was able to get first-hand knowledge of what cars are the worst offenders for slinging rocks. The Elise is by far the worst, as its rear clam is cut higher and exposes more tire. The Exige was next, and the Evora/Emira both were pretty decent at keeping...

    Show us your stable!

By the way, given that there's an M2 in this stable, it reminded me that this weekend I had a great time playing with a random BMW M2 for a 100-mile trip down the interstate and around a mountain road. We turned out to be going in the same direction, so we made the most of it on our travels...

Do we know the Emira's MPG fuel economy yet?

It's a very slight difference. Our 93 octane (what is available around me for my elevation) is equivalent to 98 RON. And with the difference in UK gallons, 25 is probably similar to the 22 I get.

Do we know the Emira's MPG fuel economy yet?

Same here. If I do a partial fill for some reason, I add that fuel and cost to my next fuel stop so it still works out. I also don't look at the onboard, but forgot to mention that. I'm in US gallons...your mileage may vary.

Do we know the Emira's MPG fuel economy yet?

It's mostly RPMs. I keep the RPMs between about 2200 and 2800 unless I'm getting hard after it. When I catch up to traffic, I'm back to poking along and I keep the torque gauge on the screen and run 0% boost. RPMs (and boost) are the killers of the fuel economy.

Do we know the Emira's MPG fuel economy yet?

Interesting. I have found that even when driving like the world is my own private racetrack, I'm still getting 20mpg (US gallons). I'm averaging about 22mpg.

Yes, it sounds like you have it solved now, but I wanted to echo the sentiment and give my own feedback. Emira Criticisms vs. My Experience

I'm exactly with you on every point. Well, on second thought, I don't completely share your feelings on shift speed because I am a paranoid and deliberate shifter who usually double-clutches downshifts and always slowly shifts up. But I can see how, yes, the car should accept a quick 1-2 shift.

Yeah, it's like trying to agree on a mattress with your spouse! I personally find the stock seats remarkably comfortable. They are probably the second-most comfortable seats in my entire fleet. Bag World Bespoke bags

I used mine over the weekend, with the full set packed out, and it's not hard to carry the interior bags on one trip and the trunk bags on another. Or, just grab a luggage cart and load it up. Several of the bags have "feet" to allow you to set them on the ground, and that helps quite a bit...
