4000 miles in and still loving it. I completely respect anyone dropping out but it really is a special thing once you get your hands on one.

CarPlay/AndroidAuto connection lost at toll barriers

Just came back from Le Mans in France. I was using google maps via apple car play. I don’t have a tag. When I stopped at the barrier to pay with my credit card the route disappeared and I had to restart it. Now I know why. The tag reader must be broadcasting with a strong signal to cause that.

UK South Bucks Emira Owners meet up

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no official South Bucks Emira Owners club. These gatherings are in South Bucks for any Emira owners from anywhere, and anyone else that wants to come for a chat. For example, an Elise owner wandered over for a chat today to find out more about the cars. All...

As I drove out the car park I had two Emiras in the rear view mirror which must be a fairly rare sight in the wild. By the time my passenger took these photos one had turned off.

UK South Bucks Emira Owners meet up

Good to see everyone this morning. 5 Emiras at this one. Hello to Mike and Clive who joined for the first time and to Andrew and Stephen who were at the last gathering. We need a Shadow gray and a DV to complete the full set. As you can see the weather was perfect.

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

On the basis it is an AGM battery I have been charging mine using the AGM mode on the charger. The manual doesn’t say anything apart from it’s an AGM battery. I am no expert but I understood AGM battery’s charge in a different manner to lead acid over longer time. It’s one of the reasons an...

From the manual. So set your CTEK to AGM.

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

Red: means the battery charge is below 12.4 V. It’s definitely time to charge the battery. Yellow: means the battery charge is between 12.4 and 12.65 V. It’s time to start thinking about charging the battery. Green: means the battery charge is more than 12.65 V. OK! No need for charging. Source...

    Throwing codes

I snow foam mine, rinse, gentle hand wash with Gteqnic ceramic shampoo, rinse again and then dry with a blower. Buy a dog dryer off that well know on line site. It’s the same as a car / bike dryer but half the price.

Running out of fuel/Massively inaccurate fuel gauge

The car should be measuring fuel usage even when stationary. If you pull up one of the trip computers and look at instantaneous fuel consumption, when stationary with the engine running it reads in gallons per hour consumption. It’s only when you pull away that the computer now has some distance...

Well identified. At the beginning of WW2 there were two squadrons of Blenheims and 2 of Spitfires based at Bicester. In July 1940, the second RAF Bomber Command Training Group was formed with HQ at Bicester so all sorts of stuff flew out of there.

Running out of fuel/Massively inaccurate fuel gauge

Sorry, I should have been clearer. Ignoring the range number, how much of the white line / fuel gauge was showing?
  36. Pugwash

Running out of fuel/Massively inaccurate fuel gauge

I have not really thought about this much but some cars calculate the range based on current average mpg. Not sure what the Emira does. I have filled mine up and then driven more miles than the “range” says, ie the range went down less than I had actually driven. There is of course the simple...
