    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

The cable does not pinch. There’s plenty of give in the rubber seal.

Where was that? Round the corner from me. Could have brought another Seneca to further embarrass the Italians.

First Emira I4 review on Hethel test track (partially in English) and Goodwood on board footage of I4

Hmm… Unless I missed it, there were no i4 runs up the hill at Goodwood. Only a car on the stand, with just a V6 doing runs. There was a video of a grey car that the on-course commentators described as a i4, but was actually obviously a V6 as you could see the supercharger bleed valve. 🤔

    Insurance / tracker

I specced the factory tracker, my thinking being it would avoid any restrictions on who would insure me and, being factory fitted, it would be better integrated than aftermarket. (Although, seeing where it‘s located, I could have fitted it myself. Whilst blindfolded!) btw, the phone-as-token...

Headlamp Beam adapters for driving in Europe

You’ve wasted your money. Not required on the Emira. The fancy LED headlights don’t have the near-side “kick-up” that older lights did.

    1000ml service?!?

Sounds like the dealer trying to get a bit of extra business. No harm in getting it done and probably a good idea, but “strongly recommended” isn’t the same as “mandatory to maintain warranty”.

    1500 mile road trip

+1 for the tolltag. I hid mine away behind the mirror shroud. Worked prefectly.

Emira OE exhaust with Miltek active valve controller

Ah, sorry. Must have mixed up your “back box mod” with cat delete. Still good info, cheers. btw, what’s the back box mod? 🤔 Or did miss that bit too?

Emira OE exhaust with Miltek active valve controller

Hi @Magicman What’s your opinion on the difference that the cat delete makes? I’ve fitted the valve controller and I’m debating wether or not to fit the pipe too.

GRP Emira Lowering Kits Now Available!

The one set of actual corner weights we’ve seen on here were practically perfect iirc, so maybe we have a head start on that.

CarPlay/AndroidAuto connection lost at toll barriers

Very easy. Pop off the mirror shroud and just stick the tag holder to the glass in the triangle space. To get the shroud off, first pull off the small section directly above the mirror by hooking something through the vents and pulling back. Then use a trim tool or similar to lever the main...

    Small modifications

I‘ve taken inspiration from @Gizmo750 (cheers fella) and had Brad at Hide and Seam make me a red-stitch gaiter. He did it remotely from Gismo’s pattern if you all want to flood him with orders!

CarPlay/AndroidAuto connection lost at toll barriers

I put the tag completely out of sight behind the mirror shroud, in the triangle space where the adas camera would go and it worked fine. But I also had the carplay/waze freezing at toll booths issue. Only occasionally. When it happened, coming out of carplay to the car menu and back would...

CarPlay/AndroidAuto connection lost at toll barriers

Is that inside the plastic shroud behind the mirror? It presumably worked ok? I was thinking to stick my tag in there as there’s a space where the ADAS camera will go but was wondering if the black paint had anything in it that would block the signal. Off to France next week so I’ll be testing...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

My car lives outside and here’s how I wire up the ctek: Put the unit on top of the supercharger. Two advantages: You can see the state of charge without unlocking the car. As it’s a vented area heat from the ctek isn’t an issue. It does get warm. On a frosty morning there’s a de-iced area in...

Had the Emira 3 months it’s been in for repairs most of that time

Previous price was £75,995. You’ve also not factored in the £3520 extra “on the road” costs that everyone has to pay to get a new one. So, minimum “drive away” price, with no extras selected, was £79,515.

    Shift Knob Replacement

Hard to tell without starting to dismantle it. The service notes suggest it’s not straightforward and I’m afraid the standard setup doesn’t offend me enough to start down that road.

    Shift Knob Replacement

Had to take the gaiter off today as the leather had come loose from the cable tie (!) holding it on. Here’s what it looks like removed. You can see quite a mess of stuff. It would need something (3D printed?) to hide all that if you wanted to run without it.

    Oil pan baffles require replacement?

Pretty sure the Emira doesn’t have the baffled sump. There’s no mention of it in the service notes which describe an Evora 400 type standard sump. I also seem to remember it’s painted bright red so should be easy to tell. Doesn’t need it anyway. Only got 400 horsepower. 😁

Running out of fuel/Massively inaccurate fuel gauge

I did think as I was typing my reply that I was giving egg-sucking instructions to Grandma so sorry about that. But I do think that you were over-thinking the fact that the fuel gauge is a fuel gauge. Hopefully if it’s a stuck level sensor, it will free up with some vigorous petrol sloshing.

    Dashcam hardwire

The manual makes it seem easier than it actually is (VOE). The upper clip is captive (I think to keep the trim in place if the curtain airbag goes off). The trim will pop out about an inch and then get held in place but the clip is in a slot in the trim from which you can pull it upwards and...

Running out of fuel/Massively inaccurate fuel gauge

They are different things. The line represents the physical fuel level based on the sensor in the tank. The distance will change (down and up) based on how you’re driving. If you’re on a track doing 10mpg the range will drop based on that as the computer works it out. If you then start...
