    Actual 0-60 Times?

Any reason to say something negative. "You mean to say that the fully loaded Emira FE launch model is slower to 60 than the stripped, lighter and more powerful top trim final edition Evora by 0.2s? OMG No way!! That's it. I'm out!!!"
  2. Lotus64

    Actual 0-60 Times?

Considering the potential for an extra shift, potential for drop off in peak power in the poweband and the fact that 100kph is a higher speed then 60mph, cars will always take longer to get to 100kph than 60 mph, usually 0.2-0.3s. Fact check and then come back.

    Actual 0-60 Times?

0-100 kph (62mph) in 4.6s equates to a 0-60 time in 4.3s. Remember, metric vs. Imperial.

    Actual 0-60 Times?

Say it louder for the folks in the back. People are so obsessed with numbers like 0-60 yet don't even know how the figure is derived.

    Actual 0-60 Times?

You misunderstood. I'm Referring to the instrumented test numbers people obsess over by publications, not the manufacturer estimates, which may or may not include 1-ft roll out of 0.3 seconds, be underated to satisfy customers, and definitely not include the 4000- 6,000 RPM launch it might see...

    Actual 0-60 Times?

We can quote 0-60 all day, but realistically, drivers will likely never be able to achieve 0-60 quoted in their vehicle, especially in a vehicle equipped with a manual trans or RWD. It's easier in an automatic trans or an EV but still unlikely. 0-60 is a calculation, not a measurement. It...

    Actual 0-60 Times?

Well, you have nothing to worry about, as the Emira will be quicker than your corvette Z51 in 0-60/5-60. I agree with you that a 4.5s 0-60 is not well of the pace of the Emira. However a 0-60 of 4.8s would be at least 0.5 sec off the pace of the Emira. For the acceleration numbers obsessed...

    Actual 0-60 Times?

This C5 corvette has the Z51 package. 0-60 in 4.8s and 1/4 mile in 13.2s @ 110 mph. 5-60 should be 5.1s. Do you have a link? Either way, well off the pace of the Emira / Evora. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15113873/1999-chevrolet-corvette-hardtop-road-test-review/

    Actual 0-60 Times?

The Emira's acceleration is evenly matched to the C5 Z06. It's 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile times are all within 0.1 secs of the C5 Z06. The C5 corvette, on the other hand is almost a second slower in each measure, completing 0-60 in 5.1s, 5-60 in 5.4s. and the 1/4 mile in 13.6s. Sources below...

    Actual 0-60 Times?

Real world 0-60 for the Emira will be in the 4.6-4.8s range. It will fall in between the 2011 Evora S and the 2020 Evora GT. It will be closest to the 2017 Evora 400. There's not much spread in-between all 4 models, weight and performance included when equipped with the manual transmission. The...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

I assumed switchable exhaust and LSD would be standard on the base V6 MT. If not, then Drivers pack is a must have.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Is the compliance what took you out? Because If the Emira is a GT, what does that make the 911, cayman, vantage, F-type, supra, NSX, R8, AMG GT, alpine and corvette? Not to mention the LC, Conti GT, Sclass coupe, SL, Gran Turismo, DBS, 8 series, McLaren GT, etc. Are those GT GTs?

I'm out - the cancellations thread

There are several valid reasons to be out (customer service, quality, dealer network, comms, etc.) But some of the narrative going around, like calling the Emira soft because it's not loud / won't kick out the rear end or calling it slow because it's not turbocharged / needs revs, are false...

Chris Harris selling his 992 GT3 Touring

He's used to getting mistreated, so the switch should be easier. And at least Lotus will mistreat him due to low resources and not a superiority complex.

Chris Harris selling his 992 GT3 Touring

So the grass ain't always greener on the other side? Chris Harris is typically spot on. Agree that 991 is superior and very sad Porsche was being snoody and mistreated him. He did love the Emira though so he's welcome here.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Look, I'm being objective. It's non sensical to say an Emira sport chassis is soft compared to a naturally aspirated Evora, regardless of how much theatre one subjectively wants.

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

I believe those exhaust changes are also apparent in Sport and full off, although it does raise the idle. Also, i'm only referring to manual equipped Emira's, so they should all have LSDs.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

I don't agree. Many have said it they want more power, which is fine. But as far as saying the Emira sport chassis is soft, that's not really a logical opinion, as the the Emira sport / touring chasis overlap in stiffness with the Evora lineup (NA Evora, S, GT, etc.), not the Elise/exige lineup...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

Thank you for the detailed response. Sport vs. Touring continues to be a tough decision for me, as they both have advantages. Can you help me understand the justification for getting touring with the drivers pack? Of course you get the cool screen. What else makes it worth it in your eyes...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Appreciate the honesty. My observation is that a large percentage of posters appear to be in this camp and wouldn't benefit from the Emira's sporting focus (i.e. steering feel / mid engine balance / dampening). Due to the Emira's amazing looks and reasonable pricing, seems it attracted a lot...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

I understand your frustration over the amount of potential buyers who prefer comfort / amenities over feedback; however buyers have high expectations and want to be able to use their sports cars often, not occasionally, meaning the car still has to offer a reasonable amount of basic comfort /...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

For me, the big draw of the forged wheels isn't how light they are. It's more about how strong they are. That can make all the difference regarding having to replace a bent wheel or not on terrible roads with low profile 20s. And they look awesome.

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

My essential options are: Design pack (forged wheels, privacy, colored calipers) Drivers pack (sport suspension, track mode, cup 2s) Lower black pack 2 piece rotors Tan nappa heated leather Steering wheel with red stripe If I can get those options for the price of an FE, I'll be extremely...

    Alcantara or Leather

I love the durability / grip that Alcantara offers but the Emira interior is to dark / drab in all black. The tan / white / red leathers elevate the ambience and brighten up the interior.

    Emira alternatives

I'd talk to you and compliment those locks! I can't fit comfortably in miatas / most of the small roadsters and find some of their proportions stubby (Miata RF is beautiful!! I'd squeeze in) but I still respect their performance! The mid-size / full size convertibles are more my flavor but my...

    Emira alternatives

I forgot these exist. I routinely see supras but can't recall the last time I saw a Z4. Very interesting alternative to the supra. No manual, a little bit softer, yet you get the top down experience. That would be a hard choice for me. Edit: Just googled the Z4 and I take that back; I'd take...

    Emira alternatives

The F type used to be one of the most beautiful designs on sale in my opinion. But the facelift made the front end anonymous and fugly. That V8 is a monster though.
  37. Lotus64

I'm out - the cancellations thread

They do feel very different. The V8 is a firecracker everywhere in the rev range with limited refinement whereas the V6 is more Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hide. Yet as the revs climb, they both deliver Euphoria with their assault on the senses, in my opinion.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Please speak for yourself. I would classify the Emira as raw and visceral based on the immense feedback through the chassis. Not as much as older Lotus but still profound compared to anything else currently on sale that's not an Ariel atom / KTM / Caterham. And at redline, I'd call it wild. In...
