Just received this. April now turned into July 23! FFS not sure how much of this I can take.
I’m seriously in two minds now on pulling the plug. No confidence in it going further back. It’s not unrealistic to think with current production that this could be Autumn 23.
FYI deposit 8th July 21 i4

I sold my GT4 last winter for £67k I had just serviced it in Porsche Teesside and it was ready to go. Again buckets carbon, all bells and whistles with 7k miles (I was second owner).
It was resold at £72k a few months later. Ended up buying a cheap boxster to run around in ready for Emira. I’m...
Basically the latter… the request for payment of second deposit came with no set price albeit I like many going off the stated and confirmed price as stated by Matt W
I’m thinking this as my stop gap given probably won’t get the i4 until summer 23 or later at this rate lol

I’m with you @Leonard the alpine has awkward looks in my book but rock solid values in the second hand market and by media accounts a nice steer. Should be a “safe” interim car.
I’ve been tempted by the black 45k car currently on autotrader
You know the answer to that one buddy… if 4 day running / building and even if they achieve target of 8 a day in the next few weeks; these first 400 are going to take some time
Anyone got a factory tour planned who can reference the completed cars from datum of 10th? Let us know please share…
21 cars a week the current rate or is it still 4 day working as it was earlier in the year? If so 12 😳
Not good is it… this second shift not any time soon and looking at the numbers being reached it could take quite some time. Take a view on lead time on the basis of what’s being produced. Makes for easy but disappointing math
Sure it will grow on me in time but it won’t win £200 at a beauty contest when passing “go” lol
Again carrying the trend of expensive middleweights like the A45, RS3 and Golf R. A few years ago £40k was an expensive car. How times have changed
Same here. Second deposit paid April with confirmed spec. At this time it was still “autumn” 22 delivery.
Happy to share any price increase with V6 owners. What’s good for one is good for all 😂🤦♂️
I’ve bought many Porsches and lotus’s / others…
Haven’t had an Aston although do like the new vantage. Porsche can be a little samey but the Porsche model works. Hardly fair mind which p!she’s me off and as a Porsche Club GB member vocal about it.
I’ve owned 997 GT3, Cayman R, Cayman GT4...
To be fair like many i4 customers I placed my deposit July8th 21 and so should not be treated any different to V6 FE customers and not take the brunt of any potential raise.
i4 was due Autumn 22 and closely followed V6. I was happy with that given my want for the i4 over the V6.
Time will...
To be fair with things the way they are I worry that the Aston could take a big hit. The last two years have see no real depreciation. I was looking at R8 V10s at the mid 60s/low70s that then became 90k.
Same for lots of other things. Heart wants to jump in on a vantage or similar but head says...
I’ve had two of the first gen R8’s
First V8 manual
Second V8 S-Tronic
Both great GTs, brilliant road trippers with a glorious sound, road presence and ride quality. Still love them to be honest and with good gen 1 cars circa 40k a bargain beautiful thing
I’ve had 4 exige mk2s and a number of Elise’s. Now I can honestly say that nothing ever went wrong ever and that’s not pampered occasional driving. We’re talking daily driving , Road trips to the Nurburgring, track days, rain, Snow everything. Spot on and cracking service from the then...
The FK8 is a great car to drive. I daily drive one for a while before selling it for a 4C when Mrs bought SQ7.
I’ve looked at the FK8 again more recently for the driving dynamics. Put it up against a new golf R / AMG A / RS3 and it’s hard to ignore the near 50% cost difference. Makes a sensible...
To be fair when I first saw it I thought Ferrari / McLaren. This one of the big drivers in buying it along with my previous lotus buying history.
It’s made me turn away from Porsche and despite owning a GT4 Porsche look quite similar. This is a new breed of car; one that you can get in and out...
Ha ha no not at all…
Subject title is “anyone thinking twice” point I made was for those thinking twice there are other options. A perfectly good daily that an M2 Comp is and A110’s or exige / Evora if some are concerned on used market prices / new pricing or general money market concerns...
Yes get that used … regardless it’s a point on sports car and useable daily. Ultimately we have all made our decision but this post brings that decision into question given the title of it. The point I make is that there are alternatives out there that could turn heads.
Exige S3 and M2 Comp...
I had a GR circuit on order from Oakmere but turned it down and let someone else have it without buying and flipping due to Emira due originally in “Autumn” wish I had kept it coming now. Will stick to my cheap 25yr old boxster while the market for used and new finds its new benchmark and will...
Hot hatches are £35k tops for me or maybe I’m showing my age (38).
Just don’t understand the world where they are plus £50k I’m not bowled over by the A110 but it’s starting to appeal to me.
My hobby seems to be scouring autotrader. To be honest not many interesting contenders for worthy...
These RS3’s are nice but I still can’t get into my head that hot hatches are circa 60k+ just not worth it and not special enough. Blend into the crowd these (great if you like that)
Let’s hope pricing sticks to the words of Matt W… at least FE albeit this won’t help everyone.
Tend to agree the point that £70k is enough for 360hp. A nice used AMG GTS could be had for circa same money or AMV8, lots more other options.
Let’s see
In my call with Lotus today I enquired over price increases and was told that everything is to plan so far with the exception of a small price increase on the tracker system. I.e. running to cost.
The only other thing mentioned was the increase from 5.9% originally offered to UK customers that...
Spoke to Lotus today
Seems that my i4 deposit was number 61 and with some exiting the process I “could” be in the first 50 batch for March / April. Only time will tell.
As far as price increases go who knows although we stand by what Matt W said.
