Yeah I was tempted to join you on this but I didn't particularly want anything "Lotus certified" coupled with a 2 hour drive to Wilmington. It looks fantastic though and I'm sure they did a great job. I'll probably just do ceramic or something around Raleigh. I don't think I can justify $6K+...

Despite my distaste (to use a kind word) with participation trophy society, @Time2Fly has a point and we should try to stay focused on Emira talk and delivery news in this thread as much as possible. I'm betting on a last week of February delivery, why not February 29th just to make a true...

LOL, my FE 1.0 has been sitting on the dealer lot in NC since December awaiting CARB. Still no gift along with no expectations of receiving one. Yes, I did get the e-mail back when they were first being sent out.

Lotus Emira Gifts Arrived for Patiently Awaiting our CARB Approval (now expected by Mid March 2024)!

Non-CARB state here (NC) with FE 1.0 sitting on the lot since December waiting for pickup. Got the gift e-mail but no gift and no shipping information. I'm fairly confident it won't arrive.

    Emira insurance in the US

Grundy might be a good option for you. Sorry to hear about Hagerty. I've heard a few people in GA complain about really high rates. Again, I think this is more a factor of location than record and age. It often doesn't seem to make much logical sense. Probably has something to do with...

    Emira insurance in the US

Not to be snarky, but he literally said "my Hagerty quote" :) I should also mention that my Hagerty quote was a 3K mile/year limit and I was told the max they will do is 5K/year. You can bump it up if you are going to exceed the initial limit.

    Emira insurance in the US

I think it has actually more to do with location than other factors. Per bankrate.com, average full coverage in Kansas is $2,630/year vs. $1,702/yr in North Carolina where I live. My Hagerty quote was $1450/yr ($95K agreed value) and I'm 38 w/ a clean record in the past 3 years (which is all...

Thanks man! It is definitely helping in keeping me busy with the wait. I had jokingly told my wife I was getting two new babies around the same time but Lotus has managed to nullify that possibility as well!

My wife and I had our 2nd kiddo on Friday (Jan 26) and here I was in December hoping the Emira would come before the baby. Now, I'm just hoping it comes before my paternity leave ends in mid-late March. With the latest news even that is now firmly in question.

I can confirm that I also was told by my dealer that we're looking at Feb 12-March 12th for delivery. This happened about 1.5 hours ago. The reason was that CARB still "hasn't gotten to the paperwork" yet. I don't think any additional testing was or is being done but I also believe at this...

What are you driving until the Emira arrives?

This is just perfect. My family would laugh SO hard at me if I came back home from the Lotus dealer in this thing. It almost seems appropriate given the Lotus experience thus far.

Hard to really discern between the before and after when in the before pic it is soaking wet. That said, the after shots look AMAZING. Was this PPF? If so, what kind? Do you notice a major visual difference with your own eyes in the flesh? I'm trying to decide what to do with my...

It's a very nice car. I test drove a 911 Carrera T (with a manual nonetheless) and while it drove great, it still didn't feel or look nearly as special to me as the Emira does. Couple that with the much lower Emira price point and I still think it's worth the wait/fight. It's just sad that...

Yeah but that's precisely my point. The only thing that makes sense for Lotus to hold non-CARB cars if there is something really amiss and it's not just days or weeks before approval. The decision to hold non-CARB cars on dealer lots makes me think we're in for some troubling news on that...

Personally, I think it's B.S. that Lotus won't release the cars to non-CARB states. Is there really that much worry that a non-CARB Emira buyer is going to turn around and sell their Emira to a CARB-state resident within the first few days of ownership where this would actually present a...

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

With the massive order book at $95/$105K why on earth would they drop the price to $65K and alienate/piss off the thousands of people that pre-ordered the Emira? It's selling just fine at the ~$100K price point. They'd just be eating huge losses at that crazy low number. There's no way that...

    Newbie Questions

The v6 is mated to the Aisin torque converter automatic (I think also sourced indirectly from Toyota that comes along with the V6) whereas the DCT in the i4 is from AMG. I imagine it probably would've been a lot of work and difficult to use the 8 speed DCT with the V6 but I can't state the...

I would love to hear a quality sound comparison between Milltek, Larini, and Aerie as I'm pretty sure I'll be opting for one of those at some point. It's near impossible to compare them unless done side by side with the same recording equipment and same testing methodology (revs, drive-bys...

NA Market Ordered: Sport or Touring suspension

For me, I thought I could easily handle a stiffer suspension than the touring cars I've driven but I also didn't want to worry if I was caught in the rain or cold. Since I won't track the car much (if at all), I went Sport + F1s which I've since heard is a fantastic combo.

    Emira insurance in the US

I went with the FE 1.0 MSRP of $95K. I was told by my agent it has to match the bill of sale price. I'm not sure if that's true for all agreed value insurers but it didn't sound like I had any choice in the matter.
