My Transit van has heated seats, they do what you are describing. My Emira seats vary in temp too. My Audi A4 heated seats are pretty stable temp.

60 is thicker, so 'maybe' better for hotter climates, but I wouldn't think for colder. I think I would trust Toyota/Lotus to decide what's best for their engine.

B&C confirmed to me 0W40 A3 B4, and that they use Mobil-1, 0W40 A3 B4 (fully synthetic). I bought a 20 litre drum of this from Opie Oils, @ just over £200, which should give me 3 oil changes. For ref, it took exactly 6 litres to get it back to the top mark on the dipstick after sump and filter...

When I collected my car (Hethel), and I got home, I set about fitting the charge lead for the trickle charger. Undid the battery cover and one of the battery terminals was completely loose, not even finger tight. might be worth checking.
