    Lightest weight track wheels

Yeah those wheels are incredibly light for that size. The Lotus factory 20x10.5 is 29.54 lbs. Removing 11.5 lbs from just one wheel like that is something else. That's 23 lbs for both driving wheels. You sure pay for it though, they aren't cheap, but if you have the budget.... yeah. Combine...

    Improperly Installed Seat Belt?

Yeah that was noticed years ago. Apparently, if installed with a normal orientation, there was an issue with the edge of the seat belt cutting into your neck, so they applied the twist. It looks odd, but in practice you don't notice it as the belt lays across your shoulder comfortably.

Interesting video. What he's not taking into account, or at least he didn't say it, is your ability to accelerate (i.e. 0-60) is a function of weight to power ratio, and tire traction. Assuming tire traction is whatever your tires can handle, your weight to power ratio can be improved by...

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

I can only speak for the @Aerie wheels since those are the ones I bought, but they were about 24 lbs lighter for all 4 wheels. The factory front wheels weigh 25.64 lbs each, and the factory rear wheels weigh 29.54 lbs each.

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

Tariffs are usually negotiable, depending on the situation. If Geely were to build a plant in the U.S., and/or commit to an investment of some kind in the U.S. like Apple just did, then the tariffs wouldn't apply.

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

Yeah I can agree with this. The first time I hit the limiter I actually thought I'd hit something, it was so violent and sudden. This is something Lotus should definitely fix by making it a softer reduction.

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

The problem with this test is the wheel sizes and tire widths keep changing, which isn't really representative of reducing URW for the same size wheels and tires. By the time they get down to the 15" wheels, it's on the same car with the same body mass weight, but they've lost 2.5" of tire...

Those speeds are just silly for this car, even though it can do it. What was their fuel consumption, 5 mpg?

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

Yeah pretty much the same for me. It has the looks I want, pretty much regardless of the price. It's modern with a beautiful interior, handles like a dream, sounds great and has a manual trans. Add Toyota serviceability and prices, and it's worth it to me to spend the few extra bucks to make...

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

I got a Dragy for Christmas but haven't used it yet. We still have snow on the ground, so soon as spring arrives and I can drive the car again, I hope to use the Dragy and start posting some results. I'm not looking for 1/4 miles times as much as 0-60 which is where most of my 'performance'...

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

Keep mind it wasn't designed for the price point it's currently selling at. It was designed for a price point of £59,999 but that was before covid and all the crud that did to everything everywhere. I think we're honestly lucky they were able to stick with it and actually get the car produced.

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

There's really no need to get all up in arms over this. It's a car, and like pretty much any car that's stock from the factory, it's a base starting point for performance increases which is typically what modding is all about. A Lotus has never been about power or straight line acceleration...

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

Keep in mind that chart shows the power to the rear wheels, which also shows how much drivetrain loss there is. The factory power rating is always what the engine is delivering at the crank, before going through everything in between the crank and the rear wheels. The amount of power that's...

    Emira Titanium exhaust interest...

Yours certainly looks fancier. It may be that the single piece of metal that wraps around the muffler body on mine, is lighter than the combination of the two pieces that wrap around each half on yours, plus the connecting brace pieces, plus the extra y-tubing. Yours definitely looks like it...

Did yours come with the valve, like the picture that shows it on your bench? Mine didn't. This is what mine looked like, which was supposed to be V2 (V1 had a different valve mount setup). Mine as you see it in the picture below, weighed 11 lbs 14.6 oz, which converts to 5.05 kg. The muffler...

Then @Aerie has changed it quite a bit. I wonder why; what were the reasons for changing it? Is this new one lighter? Sounds better? Does it come pre-blued like that? Inquiring minds want to know....

    Run-in/Break-in Procedure

You aren't supposed to run it continuously above 4k rpm for the first 1,000 miles. You can moderately rev it above that now and then. Just don't start flooring it until the engine and trans has broken in

    Cold start stalling

No. I had already purchased the battery before my car was ever delivered, so I never experienced any issues with the factory battery since I swapped it out the day my car arrived. My point was how reliable the battery swap has been. I don't even have to use the battery tender on it overnight...

    Cold start stalling

I know this isn't something you should have to do, nor is it going to be popular to say this, but I replaced the factory battery with the 40ah Antigravity battery from GRP and I've never had a single issue starting the car. I've gone as long as a couple of weeks without starting it, and it...

    Lightest weight track wheels

Their front iron rotors are bigger than the OEM factory rotors for more stopping power, which is why they're a couple pounds heavier, but the rear rotors are lighter.

    Lightest weight track wheels

I just received their CCB rotor and pad kit, literally yesterday. I haven't had the chance to install them yet because of the weather. Today's high was 26°F and it's going down to 17 tonight. I don't have a heated garage, so I'm going to have to wait until closer to spring when things warm up...

Good deal, then you'll understand and appreciate this, which is my working plan for weight reduction. I currently have everything on that list installed except the CCB brakes, which I just received yesterday. I don't have a heated garage so I won't be able to install them until it warms up...

That was me that posted about litespeed racing. First thing you have to decide is what's your budget. That's going to determine what you get more than anything else. Their Mag+ monoblock would I think be the best ratio of weight savings to expense, unless you have an unlimited budget. If...

    8 More Days 'till Pickup!

Honestly you'd be better off having them deliver it to you by covered carrier, that way it will arrive exactly like you see it in the pictures. It's a long drive from Seattle to Boise, and the weather and road conditions are uncertain right now. That's an 8 hour drive at best, and in a brand...

    The inevitable faster Emira

I had mine done when it was completely stock, and it showed 369.6 hp and 303 ft lbs of torque to the rear wheels, which is a drivetrain loss of only 7.6% which is quite good actually.

📓 Journals A sad day.. any help would be welcomed

So sorry to see this. It looks like most of it is body panels, but the aluminum underbody panel in front probably got bent. Depends on if it just bent, or some of the damage pushed back to the frame the panel is attached to. The radiator leaking is worrisome. The biggest expense may be the...

    The inevitable faster Emira

Now that the EV prison shackles are being removed from manufacturers, and with the new push to "drill baby drill" for oil, it's quite possible that the auto companies are going to want to quickly go back to producing what they know, and what the buying public wants, which is less expensive ICE...

    The inevitable faster Emira

Yeah it still has to pass emissions and regulations. Unfortunately I don't think it would be the V6 unless Geely has changed their mind about that engine, which means no more manual trans.
