What tire pressure are you running?

Is the above (thanks David s) what everyone is doing for the track? Does anyone start at lower (than street) pressures and find that works once the tires quickly heat up and if so, what cold pressures do you start with? And David s mentions he's using "R spec tyres". I'd be using the OEM Eagle1...

    NHTSA - Lotus Manufacturers Communications

Thanks for this. I see it contains 4 "TSB's Class 4" and 2 "QBP's Class 3" and 1 "QBS Class 2" (7 total) for some different concerns, with directions to dealers about corrrective measures. No actual recalls. As well there's one complaint about the "twisted seatbelts" from an Emira owner, with...

    Raceseng Shifter Knobs

Good suggestion. Have a short shifter kit on order from Aerie (along with new V2 rims, which are holding up the kit's arrival); planned to install the kit regardless. I didn't measure the height difference but I'd say it's about 1.5 inches taller.

    Raceseng Shifter Knobs

Raceseng shift knob installed and I'm happy with it and like the extra weight. A few things to add to the helpful advice above from crestima: -don't forget to install the spring that came with the OEM shift knob set-up. The install video on the Raceseng website, doesn't show that; likely...

    Raceseng Shifter Knobs

Ordered the “Evora/Emira” Stratose Raceseng shift knob (black alcantara; red side stitch; gear shift silver top numbers), being one of the few types they had left. Ordered September 6, so it took 10 days to reach me in Canada (including weekend days), so pleased with their ship time. Need some...

    What is coming 16.09.24??

OK OK I"m IN, as well. They just need to price the production model, with all the same features, at less than US$100K and my marriage will survive the purchase...(lol). A lot of innovative ideas. I'd love to sit in one and even better, take it for a test drive! Should we start lobbying our...

    What is coming 16.09.24??

That's not the hyped-up new announcement due out today. The Lotus Type 66 was announced already, apparently with only 10 to be built: announcement made in August 2023: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/motorsport/new-type-66-ps1-million-lotus-never-was

    Pure fun Sharing an Emira

A nice looking young lady who can drive a stick, behind the wheel of an Emira?? In my younger days, I’d have thought I’d died and gone to heaven! Back in my motorcycle days, I thought the same thing whenever I saw a lady driving a bike. Even with a helmet on and no hair sticking out, you could...

Looking for Floor Mats for the Emira

An end to my “Witamats story”: I received the final piece of the puzzle today: the trunk/boot mat I ordered just over 4 months ago, which I ordered with the inside mats. It took just over a month to get the 2 inside mats, with Witamats telling me they needed to figure out the trunk dimensions...

My next car after the Emira

I'm having too much fun to think about parting ways with my Emira...but if I was to move onto something else sporty, save money, and sacrifice storage space, I'd consider "down grading" to a 2024 Mazda Miata MX-5 RF GT (retractible hard top) with a manual transmission, with its improved (for...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

In case it helps anyone, here's a screen shot of page 250 from the Emira Owner's Handbook, indicating how to temporarily hook up a battery tender, rather than fitting "permanent connections" which looks to be the focus of this thread so far.

    What is coming 16.09.24??

Classic automotive 10-step manufacturer PR: 1. announce some mystery vehicle; 2. set a "launch date" (sometimes complete with clock that ticks down); 3. splash around a few teaser photos; 4. "accidentally" release some further tidbits to select auto reviewers and/or media influencers; 5...

DIY - Oil Change Reference for 2GR-FE

Good idea however it depends how much room you have to work under the Emira. The screwdriver/driver you reference takes up more space, compared to the ratchet. If you're working under a 4-post lift, then for sure it's better to control the torque with the screwdriver/driver. If space is at a...

What did you do to your Emira today?

My Emira came with a black tow-hook, in the "trunk (aka boot) kit". Some questions: 1. I assume this can be used for the front of the Emira (only), since page 267 of the owner's handbook only mentions the tow hook being connected to the front? My Corvette C8's had a place on both the front...

Drive Modes explained and Lotus Dynamic Performance Management

I know; TY. The OP suggested some Emira may have a fourth drive mode if I read it correctly, whereas mine has three, plus the option of turning the stability control completely off, in all three driving modes. I wonder if some Emira are set-up differently.

Drive Modes explained and Lotus Dynamic Performance Management

As per the initial TomE post that starts this thread, I put my Emira into track mode, then pushed the mode selector switch towards me and held it there. The screen showing it had been in track mode disappeared while I was holding it, but there was no change to any gauges in front of me, so my...

    Shift Knob Replacement

My email to Raceseng went unanswered for about 2 weeks, so I followed up. Second time was the charm: I got a response within a couple days telling me they aren’t making any more Evora shift knobs (whatever they have left is it), nor do they have any plans to make shift knobs for the Emira. I...

What did you do to your Emira today?

I've had success with aftermarket rims on other vehicles, which are gun metal in color, making brake dust less visible. That's one reason the Aerie V2 rims I just ordered a few days ago, are gun metal. I doubt I'll have them in time to put on my extra set of tires, given the fast approaching...

I'm a recent convert, to almost always driving in track mode and my Emira is a daily driver that's yet to see an actual track.
