Original reason for China getting the i4 is that import duty is based on engine displacement and the 3.5l V6 ends up costing like US$50k more than the i4 so they expect to sell mostly i4 in China. I think the original plan called for the 360 initially so to give an advantage to the V6 on sales...

All depends on the countries regulations and if they need to get the car recertify for Smog and such.

China get's pretty hot in the summer with many cities running in the high 90s -100 and the 400hp i4 been there for over a year now.

doubt it since US i4 won't start production till next month soonest.

Additional i4 FE allocations were given to dealers after the delay and some may have a couple left.

Drove one in China about 6 months ago have also driven a A45s in Hong Kong. The actual shift feels the same, it's just it takes longer to happen after you click the paddle.

The DCT is not slow as it's a sealed unit from AMG and there's no report of it being slow on the A45. The delay is caused by the slow OS in the Emira which takes almost 1/2 sec to get the paddle click to the EMU but that's something you can learn to overcome with time.

I think some improvement were made in the production cars as most of the comment on slow response is on the press cars.

ALl depends on what you want out of your Emira? Is it a recreation vehicle for just driving enjoyment or do you plan to daily it. If it's the first, the V6 manual will probably offer you more enjoyment. If it's the later, the i4 maybe more bearable in traffic and on longer trips.

Don't know who said that. Lotus would have told their dealers to stop taking deposit for the Base edition if they know they will not have enough allocation to cover the ones on the book.
