    To each their own…

I agree with @squish that the majority of negative comments towards builds (which aren't many) have been very targeted towards the automatics. Considering the extra wait they're enduring, we should be giving them sympathy and not lectures. That being said, I believe the negative comments...

Is Polestar about to out-Lotus, Lotus?

This is a strange article in that he barely goes into any actual detail to compare/contrast the two vehicles in support of his premise. For example he vaguely points out that the Emeya is too heavy at 2.5-tonne, but than fails to mention how that compares to the Polestar. Another example, the...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

@Gooner your correct, a number of the Lotus websites in various countries still display the paint as being covered for 5 years. What is consistent with other areas of Lotus quality control is that many refer to the Eletre instead of the Emira......this despite being on pages specifically for...

    Tiresome CarPlay bricking

I can confirm that changing tracks via the steering wheel buttons while playing songs on an Android Auto app works great. I believe it's safe to assume that it would work the same for CarPlay too.

Pretty amazing that list price $70K Fiskers can't sell, even with 60% off discounts attached! At least the Emira is far more analog mechanically speaking than the Fisker and it's cloud connected "features" that will cease working.

    Tiresome CarPlay bricking

I haven't had my car long, but I have experienced a handful of times where the screen simply won't respond to any inputs for a few minutes. I have a USB stick with a large library of songs attached and at first attributed it to that being indexed......unfortunately it happened one more time...

Fellow vivid red owner here who also has experienced a few strange paint defect issues (mfg April 2024). I agree with the others on here that yours don't appear to be the same blistering issue being discussed for most of this thread......I don't believe mine was either. The most common cause...

Porsche ends combustion engine in 718 Cayman/Boxster in 2025.

Nova is right, the Taycan has sold nearly 2 to 1 vs the Panemera for the past 3 full years. Not a runaway sales champion, but also far from a total dud. As appealing as the 718 is to people on a Lotus Emira forum, it's the SUVs that have been printing the money for Porsche for years. They...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

Car and Driver used to beat the crap out of WRXs and Evos, crazy launches at high RPMs to get those lazy turbos going. All of these magazines have been testing both 0-60 in addition to 1/4 mile times for all of their road tests for decades. I agree with you that they're not redline neutral...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I don't believe this is a case of the "media" entering into the test with a preconceived outcome of British=bad build quality. I've been a subscriber to Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Road & Track, and Automobile (RIP) for 30 years and I can count on one hand how many of the cars they had which...

I've been getting thumbs up from both cars and motorcycles, including one biker who zipped between cars on the highway to catch up and just to get a better look at the Emira! Overall reactions on the road have been amazing, waaaaay more than I ever expected!

Why are so many Emiras being resold in the USA?

I can empathize with people who have had their lives change, but why then still go through with the purchase? Financially it seems less than wise to take the depreciation hit associated with titling the car and driving it a few 100 miles.

    Music via USB drive

So to be clear, to get past the default alphabetical order I'd need to add the track number to the title listed under the properties/details tab? Only 5000 plus files to update LOL! Stinks that it won't honor the track number when it's literally already part of the name of the file itself, not...

Why are so many Emiras being resold in the USA?

Between the auction websites and Autotrader, roughly a few dozen Emiras are either currently for sale or have already been resold. To be clear I'm not talking about dealers automatically placing an already spoken for new car on Autotrader. At this moment there are 17 Emiras on Autotrader with...

    Music via USB drive

I have 40GB of music on a UBS-C 3.2 (exFAT), all artists and albums separated into folders and it takes roughly 3 minutes to index everything. The sorting within albums is seemingly alphabetical, but seems to ignore leading track numbers in the file names. It's absolutely ridiculous that the...

An argument for installing PPF at the Lotus dealership

I had originally planned on just doing frontal PPF, but after discovering a scratch near the passenger side air intake I went for the full PPF (I left the rear bumper unwrapped due to a MFG defect). A single freaking drive on the highway back from the dealer and already a mark..... The only...

    Emira insurance in the US

Illinois here, car registered in Dupage county vs my Chicago place. I'm a long time Allstate guy, but in the end State Farm was by far and away the best deal going. Deductibles were all $500 with identical coverages, no home bundling here either. State Farm was such a good deal that I...

I wouldn't describe what I saw as "pinholes".....more like a red grain of salt stuck to the surface. They were so miniscule that I couldn't even photograph them with the PPF removed. I just went back through this entire thread and can say that what is on my car does not match any of the pics...

I LOVE hearing people are willing to put meaningful miles on their Emiras, do the road trip for sure! Heads up for any fellow vivid red owners out there. I had a defect near the rear driver side taillight where a paint bubble crumbled away. Underneath the bubble it appears the plastic bumper had a bit of a deformity.....so at least not color specific in this case. Second issue is that on my...

So some good news for most you on this thread. I've now checked this out in person and I don't believe these little bumps are the blistering issue. I'm so baffled at this point, I was there on Monday morning due to paint bubbling/crumbling on the rear bumper (posted earlier in this thread #268 and #277) and did not notice these. The installer swears that they did not see them during multiple inspections or during the pre-PPF prep...

Thank you for pointing that out, so maybe I'm "lucky" and this is some other defect that isn't as bad as the blistering documented on this thread. Most manufactures use plastics for the front and rear bumper covers, so it makes sense that this may be a different material than the...
