No the GTS & 911 are two leagues above and are considerably more reliable and better built. I recommend you visit the Lotus factory if you need convincing and test drive both - I have !

In the UK used cars have halved in value and have been plagued with mechanical and bodywork issues. Buy a Porsche

I have been following your ownership nightmare and glad you have successfully rejected the car. I cancelled my order many months ago and so glad that I did.

Going by the numerous other posts citing the same problem this is a normal characteristic of the Emira and all part of the Lotus ownership experience .. I hope you soon get it resolved.

Porter it looks like you are coming round to my conclusion about Lotus when I cancelled 8 months ago. It was the factory tour and driving the car on track at Hethel that told me all I needed to know.

Until the next thing goes wrong and it is too late to reject the car.

No doubt too busy dealing with other faulty Emiras.

Just to be controversial I cancelled my Emira and ordered a 718 4.0 GTS in agate grey. Both are great cars in different ways.

I did the same ordered a 718 4.0 GTS in February and taking delivery in August. The buying experience has been a different world including a FREE afternoon around Silverstone. Plus the price is £4,000 less than the Emira

There are nearly 40 for sale on Autotrader now so a lot of disgruntled owners are just selling on. I cancelled several months ago but check in here occasionally as I desperately wanted the car but my head said no based on early feedback. I hope you resolve the issues.

I was told on the factory tour that they modify the Toyota gear box at Hethel once it arrives to suit the Emira which did concern me at the time.
