3rd Cat Delete on Emira – Is the Milltek Valve Controller Really Necessary?

I opted to just delete the 3rd cat in May. I'm VERY happy with the result. Goldilocks says "just right". 😄

    Speedometer, Off?

My Emira reads 1-2 mph higher than GPS speed per Wayz and my radar detector.

Increased cabin noise with 3rd cat straight pipe?

I didn't feel it was necessary (happy with stock valve controller) and didn't want to further complicate things.

Increased cabin noise with 3rd cat straight pipe?

I just completed a 1,200 mile round trip to Gator for my 1 year service (living in Minneapolis is slightly inconvenient 😄). While it was on the lift they installed my GRP 3rd cat delete. The trip home in Tour wasn't noticeably louder, but when I switched to Sport to catch up to a Lambo on I-90...

Thank you McLaren, was a fun outing and the Emira handled it like a champ 😉

Did a 1400 mile rally with 911GT3RSs, AudiR8V10s, Corvettes, BMWM4s andM5s, McLarens. Emira had no problem hanging with all of them. Car is freakin' awesome.

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

I have the same setup. I CLEARLY need to drive the car harder, my tires have too much tread left.

    Reliability for long road trip?

I did a 1400 mile rally into Canada along the north shore of Lake Superior. Car was comfortable and a blast to drive, no issues.

    DIY Emira Maintenance

No. Biggest task is removing/replacing the undertray. Not difficult, just time-consuming. Brakes are no more difficult than any other car.

    Top Speed

Since I'm sure my insurance company and law enforcement (I have a pending citation) reads my posts on this forum, I'm happy to report that the Emira easily handles 60mph in a 60mph zone. 🙂👍

Anyone planning on driving their Emira through winter?

^^EXACTLY^^ I can't imagine driving the Emira in a Minnesota winter. She'll be prepped for a nice 4 month nap and resting comfortably in my heated garage. 😴😴😴

Do we know the Emira's MPG fuel economy yet?

I averaged 22mpg on the 1400 mile rally I just finished. AVERAGED. In the mountains keeping up with the big boys it was as low as 9. 😈

We only went to Terrace Bay, then did top speed runs at the Terrace Bay Airport, which was AWESOME!!!

1400 mile trip in the Evora!

We participated in the GForce Rally North Shore Run III from Minneapolis to Thunder Bay Ontario and along the north shore of Lake Superior with 20 other teams. Audi R8s, BMW M4s and M5s, Corvettes, various flavors of Porsche 911, a Hellcat and a Z28. Emira hung with all of them, especially on...

    Seat belt cover falls off

Yes, both of them. Annoying. Ridiculous. Not worth driving 400 miles to nearest dealer in Chicago to deal with it.

Anyone regretting that they got the Sport suspension and Cup 2s?

I have the sport suspension but Goodyear tires. Spring rates are stiff but I find the dampers remarkably compliant. I'm good with Goodyear as my "training wheel" tires on the Emira. :giggle: I'm running Toyo R888r's on my Elise and they're pretty sketchy if i rains. I was afraid the Cup2's...

    Break in Oil Change?

I just did mine at 1,150 miles. Penzoil Ultra Platinum. New oil looked just like "old" oil. I used a genuine Toyota filter kit, installed a magnetic drain plug. Total materials cost was +/- $100, so $300 from the dealer is a fair price. 75% of the effort is removing and replacing the undertray...

    Intermittent failure to start

I've has the car since May 7, and I've driven about 800 miles. 2 days ago my wife and I took a short trip and she configured her iPhone to the car, which was great! Hethel Yellow Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I had the chrome "LOTUS" letters and all 4 wheel badges replaced with black when I took delivery on May 7, but the nose badge was on backorder. Nose badge is STILL on backorder from Lotus, but of course Greg's Race Parts had them in stock and got one to me very quickly. :giggle: (y) Removal...

Well, I just joined the defective brake pad club! Right side front rotor. Inside surface is fine. Car only has 400 miles on it. Closest service center (Chicago) is 400 miles away.
