Made even MORE difficult by the lack of bonafide color charts at NA dealers. Seriously…. Has Lotus always been like this? Requesting configs with little to no color samples to refer to?

Yeah… they’re freakin’ geniuses. Too bad they couldn’t figure out how to get sample plates of the new FE colors to NA dealers BEFORE our configs were due.

Yeah I was supposedly in the mid-20’s when I made my deposit back in July of ‘21 and was told that I just missed the cut for the FE. When I took my test drive in October of last year I met at least 3 customers that were offered an FE but passed on it and chose to wait. Those passed over cars...

I put in an order over TWO years ago and haven’t made the cut for the 2.0. I guess I’m destined to wait until the release of the base model and will presumably get an allocation then……WTFDIK?

Haven’t heard a thing from my dealer but given your dates above that doesn’t bode well for base models. Looking at delivery sometime in early ‘25 if this is, indeed, correct…. 4 years from deposit to delivery is a tad disappointing.

Sad to say that I agree given what little info I've recently received from my dealer here in the Northeast USA; mid-late '23 deliveries for most FE's followed by base in early '24.

Of course they did! "Sequencing of comms" LMAO... They haven't "sequenced" comms in years now.. Not shooting you Tom, in fact I appreciate your commitment to this forum, but Lotus continues to leave me scratching my head in disbelief....

It would be lovely if a dealer in downstate NY got an Emira for deposit holders to actually see. LNJ had a demo car for a day or two last December if I remember correctly. Strange how some dealers have had a car more than once while others haven't gotten it at all. Geeze, what a clusterf*ck....

With little to no transparency in this whole US deposit and/or ordering process I’d think the shadier dealers will simply take your spot in line and forego any offer to buy your car for a markup.

Agreed. In bright sunlight the color is fabulous but under darker conditions, to me at least, it looks a bit washed out. I guess I need to see it in person. DV was my first choice but considering I missed the cut on the FE maybe that’s a good thing. The operative word there being “maybe”.

My deposit was made in July of '21 and I too missed out on the FE. I'm also being told by my dealer that the next batch of configs *should* be ready to be placed into the ordering queue in Sept/Oct and I am "likely" in that batch. IF true, this would probably put my handover somewhere around...
