I had the same thing happen to a '23 Velar I purchased in Dec. of '22. Not only wouldn't they budge off of MSRP but they added a mandatory "Glass Etching Fee" for $600 that they wouldn't remove.

I'd be interested in the answer to this as my car is an AT v2 and I'd prefer the black badges at delivery though I have little faith that either Lotus nor my dealer can confirm, either way, what the process is and what I should expect.

No debate from me in regards to CARB but why are so many other manufactures able to get their approval in a timely fashion yet Lotus has effectively "shit the bed" on this issue for a car that they introduced to the public back in early '21? There's no excuse for this.....

I’m curious as to when Hethel intends to begin production of the NA FE Auto V6’s if they haven’t already done so. i believe the original correspondence stated that approval was expected sometime in mid-late summer of ‘24 with deliveries starting shortly thereafter. I’m assuming that if...

Lotus Emira Gifts Arrived for Patiently Awaiting our CARB Approval (now expected by Mid March 2024)!

Had a deposit in since 07/21…. got a call last August that I could put my config in for a “December/January build with March/April delivery” for my auto V6. A second deposit was required. We all know what happened next; another delay until late summer ‘24 at the earliest. I got the email but...

I’ve had a deposit in on an Emira since July of ‘21 but I, too, got into a McLaren this past August after being a bit fed up with the way Lotus handled this whole launch. I bought a GT and have to admit I’m pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and capable the car is. I did manage to get an...

I believe the DF on a McLaren is currently around $3300-$3500 so I'm thinking $2300 for Lotus isn't too out of line when comparing low volume UK manufacturers to the USA and their respective price points. Believe me..... I'd love to find fault in this as the whole Emira shitshow has been nothing...

What are you driving until the Emira arrives?

I had a 2019 i8 Roadster and it was easily one of the most reliable cars I owned. I was amazed at how seamless the car would advance from battery power to engine with no discernable difference in feel. I've read stories that the engine noise was artificial and piped in but, in truth, that didn't...

I’m guessing that most of the 2.0 configs are from people that had in refundable deposits quite early in this game and just missed the cut for the 1.0. What better way to keep these same people on the hook and prevent them from jumping ship then to convert their refundable deposits into...

Thanks Tom. I specced this with the Ice interior and yellow calipers. I’m still trying to gauge the undertones in this color; unsure if it’s got the brown undertones similar to Porsche’s Chalk/Crayon or bluish undertones like McLaren’s Cirrus.
