That’s good to hear, after the way the guys at Central have been so far, I’d hate to see them not prosper from this. Its a strange new world when SUV’s are the saviour of so many niche brands but we all know what the Cayenne did for Porsche.

Just a thought seeing as Lotus will only realistically be selling one model……… If the dealers can be cut out of the loop altogether and we just go through direct sales, doesn’t it make being a Lotus dealer utterly pointless? It makes the thought of aftersales something of a worry.

I asked Lotus this question directly and their customer services emailed me to say the i4 FE, in the UK at least, will be 360 HP. They completely ignored my remarks regarding the Chinese version being 400 HP, and no answers as to WHY !! I therefore assume they are deliberately keeping the HP...

If you’re not worried about people thinking the car is fractionally older than it is, I’d keep it anyway, before or after September. Real car people would think you were one of the early special customers !! They might even think you were a priority FaceTube influencer……

I think someone (maybe Lotus) needs to tell the Dutch market that the car won’t be having ADAS fitted, he seems to be expecting adaptive cruise etc, lots of safety systems, that aren’t going on the FE cars.

Just had this reply from Lotus, as expected. Totally avoided the question about 400HP rumours. I guess we’ll find out on the 19th about the China spec FE.

There’s not much remaining justification for a V6 auto anywhere else if the AMG/DCT already has 400Hp other than for the noise (which is rather superior to any four pot)
