You got that with the Esprit., the Elise, and certainly the Exige. The Evora is a bit more polarizing in terms of looks.

Maybe paint and PPF technology has changed since the first Elises were delivered, but PPF was applied by a contractor or dealer because the paint required time to cure before the PPF was applied. In the case of cars headed to the States, the boat ride provided ample curing time.

I don’t know that that is true. Totally aside from dealer machinations on their end of the line, Lotus is going to manufacture the cars in the most efficient and cost effective way as possible. They will batch the cars according to the fewest line changeovers and maximum efficiency.
