I now officially have an extended warranty for 2 years from the date the factory one expires. I’m not sure which dealers can offer it but I know Lotus Endeavour can for anyone interested.

As far as I’m aware, dealerships were being trained on how to sell the warranty last week. I’ll be chasing tomorrow as mine was going to be the first they produced but not heard anything yet. Will post if I get an update

I heard from a Lotus dealer direct, who is negotiating with head office. I’m negotiating terms on my faulty car and they are offering 2 years of extended warranty but have to wait for it to roll out this week. Will be provided by Car Care Plan apparently

Limited to 100k cars per manufacturer and obvs fine for Lotus. No coincidence that JLR exports around 100k a year to the US and they started shipping a few days ago before the announcement.

Not having a manual handbrake release is a real pain in the backside when you can’t start the car. Requires having the back wheels off and hot wiring the motors to release. If I ever see my car again I’ll be turning off the auto park brake.

I wrestled with that insane panel during removal and replacement yesterday in a car reading 33 deg. If trying this, when putting back you need to pull the carpet back towards the seat a bit to allow the panel enough room to push/drop down to the floor and slide forwards under the "hooked" rail.

Can I ask what symptoms you experience when you say “won’t start”? I’ve been having similar issues the past few days. Mine unlocks but then the start button simply does nothing with the CEL coming on sometimes. Tried pretty much everything at this point.

The brackets are quite “crude” and I doubt they were on the panel when it was painted. The issue is that because it’s bolted shut there is no tolerance available when everything is tightened up as the 3 top bolts must all align perfectly with the body lugs, while also aligning with the hinge...

Having just opened the front on mine this morning, the fixing brackets at the top of the bonnet cover look like they can be adjusted but i'd bet it would be a pig of a job to do as you'd have to have the bonnet "floating" while you loosen everything off, align and then retighten.

I had a look this morning - quite a faff. There is a rubber shroud in place. It looks like water has been pooling on the top though. I’m also not sure how it’s supposed to drain correctly but mine looks like it channels towards the cabin and to centre of the bay.
