I've never noticed that. I don't think you can listen to the system at 50% unless you are parked and engine off... I generally only listen at 80% volume or higher when driving. That said, I am not sure why the system would behave that way. Maybe there is some volume-dependent gain settings...

The alcantara is okay - the only worry is places like the armrest and steering wheel where you touch a lot. But really just the steering wheel. Some have really strongly negative experiences with alcanrara steering wheels. Some don't.

Yes, I agree. It's generally not recommended to mix different subwoofers. By leaving both in place, there may be excessive midbass since the stock subwoofer has low end extension limits and has audible compression at high playback volumes.

Yea, I also think it's a good system. The bass can be improved, that's about it. 80 percent of the time, however, I have the system off because I like how the car sounds. I have been commuting with my car recently and on the highways, listening to the KEF system has been pretty enjoyable.

Personally I think it's not going to be that meaningful. I don't see Lotus putting out some monster new engine in a hotter version of the Emira. I also strongly doubt that AMG will provide an even more powerful version of the M139. Their next engine package, if they continue to work on this...

I'd be really surprised if it sounded better than the KEF system. We know it's less powerful, has fewer speaker drivers, and I have no idea what the subwoofer design is - it looks almost as if its just one of the rear speakers, but this is just a guess with a 11.2% confidence.

Most modern car audio amplifiers and powered subwoofers no longer need a separate line level converter. They usually come equipped with speaker-level inputs as-is. Check to see if the powered subwoofer you are buying has speaker level input already.

I generally would stay away from Rockville products. The MMATS audio subwoofer looks very well built and should work well in a small sealed enclosure, but gain, you might as well use an 8" driver because there are many more choices available. Fitting a different driver into the stock subwoofer...
