    Thoughts on modifications

It’s black enamel paint… Once dry the excess should come off nicely with some nail polish remover on a tissue to leave the numbers looking fresh and super clean. I was hoping to have it done already but the garage is only 10 degrees and so the 2nd coat is still drying. I get to find out if it...

Aircon on with full temperature control.

Works perfectly- thanks for correcting my stupidity! The journey home was warm and cosy and nice and demisted!!! Car ownership 101… I deserve to still be driving my mark 1 Astra 🤦

Aircon on with full temperature control.

the more obvious the better.... as the answer is YES YOU CAN! There's the solution I needed! I was looking on the main screen and the only aircon button is "max A/C" and that over-rides all the other controls. By doing what you said and controlling the aircon on the manual button and then...

Covering the central screen with a matt screen protector

I’m happy certainly experimenting. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that is a few mm bigger than an iPad Pro and can be cut with a blade (unlike the tempered glass ones). The idea of an oleophobic sounds good as well. Most of the decent ones I’ve found online are all tempered glass...

Covering the central screen with a matt screen protector

The main screen can suffer from glare in a few light conditions - nothing major but something that i think can be easily citified with a matt film. Has anyone else tried using a matt film on theirs? I bought at iPad pro one from Amazon which is very nearly big enough to cover the screen. I say...

Aircon on with full temperature control.

Does anyone know how you turn the air-con on AND have the heating on at the same time? I have a air-con max button that overrides all the temp settings. In the morning I like running the air-con and the heating at the same time as it de-mists perfectly whilst staying warm... At the moment to...

📓 Journals Another new arrival - Seneca for Christmas

Dirty car but I like it that way! 700 miles completed. Super slippy out there even on the Goodyear tyres - I had her sideways twice by mistake this morning! Hairy stuff… Had a windscreen washer jet error flash up after it had been parked outdoors at work in the super cold weather for 8 hours…...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

Hi @Porter - all is good with my car. See a few posts earlier. I think it was potentially a loose connection, that’s all… my error. Charger works a treat.

Emira Forum Previous Car History - What automotive brand are you coming from?

Very happy. The cars been faultless so far. Almost 700 miles done in 3 weeks - and that’s despite all the terrible weather we’ve had in the UK and having Covid for a week! I genuinely think that if I kept the GT3 I wouldn’t be around - I’d probably be in prison or worse! The Emira is just a...

Emira Forum Previous Car History - What automotive brand are you coming from?

I’m not worried about the Emira residuals. For me it’s a car that’s a lot of fun to drive and to enjoy as I see fit whilst also still being beautiful to look at. I just hope the cars reliability and Lotus’s dealer support mean it will continue to be a fun ownership proposition :)

Emira Forum Previous Car History - What automotive brand are you coming from?

Crayon Grey GT3 - sold it for a few reasons. 1. It was too fast as a daily driver. The fun came when you really pushed it and the morning commute is not the place to push that hard. 2. I also didn’t have the talent to drive that fast or the restraint to slow down enough! 3. I was putting...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

Not sure the model - it’s branded Porsche from a previous car. The cable goes past boot seal perfectly and I can still move it slightly meaning it’s not being pinched at all.

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

All is now good with my battery charger and there are no warning lights on anymore. I think the sensor wire much have come loose when I was initially connecting the terminals as it all works perfectly now - IE the battery charges etc and there are no warning lights on the dash. I’m not sure...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

I’m invoice 85 and the only issue I’ve had in 500 miles was my self inflicted one when I think I installed a trickle charger and think I dislodged another connector. I’m just a voice from the otherside of the frustrated coin! If things go wrong I’ll be sure to share!

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

So Lotus said to come see the dealer - which I ignored! I made sure the car was off for 30 mins. I then disconnected the negative battery again - left it off for a minute. Then I reconnected the negative battery terminal - however in the process the small electrical connector to the BMS was...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

Does anyone have any guide prices for ceramic coating in the UK… For coating the car in Modesta my local guy is quoting a little of £1k with the prep work… feels overpriced to me. I’ve flip flopped on the subject but the paint work does mark easily - I left some marks on the black pack roof...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

I’ll try the battery tray for the negative connection. My only thoughts is that the battery earth strap connects onto the battery in the same place that I used so I thought that it’s effectively the same point… Let’s see what tomorrow brings when I drive the car a few more times after moving...

Sounds logical. Where are you suggesting that I attach the chargers terminals?

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

I’m confused as well! What do you mean by unwind your battery nuts to expose the +/- threads? Which nut do you mean by battery nuts? And which threads do you mean by threads? Do you mean the bits I’ve pointed to in green? I think where I’ve attached it to on the positive is fine but I’m not...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

The scanner turned up but I can’t clear the particular battery code that’s been thrown up on the Emira… on the plus side it did clear a warning light on my other car that’s waiting to go into the garage - so I know it works. I’m waiting for a call back from Lotus to advise.

    Wind noise

There is a little wind noise on my drivers side. It sounds like it’s coming from around where the bottom of the window meets the door and the frame… is that the same for you? All the seals look like they are in the correct positions.
  35. J

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

If you mean the big bracket along the bottom of the battery that holds the battery down then no you don’t have to remove that, the plastic cover just unclips in-situ.
  36. J

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

The plastic cover just clips on and off fairly easily. I disconnected the power when trying to see if I could connect my charger connector to the main battery stub rather than using the bolt after the battery conditioner thing!

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

It had been switched off overnight before I connected it… and I don’t think I turned it on at all before I did the work… Or maybe I did inadvertently 🤔

    Emira alternatives

The only other car that turned my head properly was the 570s… I really thought about it but I didn’t want all of the hassle McLaren's can potentially bring and I wanted my fun at sensible speeds. Good luck with your decision.
