    Red starter button cover

There’s a little hidden mechanism that controls the descent of the switch. It’s heat welded / melted into place and you can’t really get to it. The spring could be removed but I’m not sure if that would stop it decending, make it just flap about or mean it always stays up even when you shut it!

    Red starter button cover

The shift gaiter is held in place by another screw in peice. It’s also held in place by 4 small holes in the gaiter that go over 4 small pegs in the base. It’s then glued all the way around the rim to totally secure it… it’s def not going anywhere but comes off with slow steady pressure as you...

    Red starter button cover

It wasn’t the easiest but with the whole lots comes off ok. It took a little prying up with some wide trim removal tools. I started at the front on the car and worked backwards. If you do it be careful not to dent the aluminium trim.

    First Emira has hit BaT

I think paint issues are limited to only a few people. Says me with my beautifully painted 22 V6 :-)

    Red starter button cover

For reference the yellow paint code i used is LY1C which the dealer said was the brake caliper colour code… It’s an Audi colour. I haven’t put a clear coat on top of it yet as I think like the satin finish but I may still clear coat it. Not sure if I should have used Lotus LO7 yellow instead…

    Red starter button cover

I’ve never liked the red starter switch cover. Esp on a Seneca car with black alcantara interior and yellow brake callipers. If I had a red car or red callipers it makes sense but red doesn’t work for my car… I wanted to take it off to paint / stain / powder coat it but sadly it’s plastic...

Emira Lightweight Alloy Forged Wheels by Aerie Performance

Can you post an update when you get them? What’s the weight like, finish and fit etc… I’m super interested but want to see how someone else’s experience goes first!!!

I had the same noise issue as you at full lock and it was the steering pump on mine as well.

    Gear gaiter removal

Anyone know who you remove the gear gaiter as I want to send it off to be replaced by an alcantara one? I think you remove the gear knob by undoing the grub screw on the back but then what? Do you just force the gaiter down around the edges or does the centre panel need to be removed?

Am I an idiot if I skip PPF?

I PPF’d my last car and decided against doing it on the Emira. I had it ceramic coated instead esp as the black pack roof paint is super soft. Now over 5,000 miles in and I’ve no regrets in not getting it done.

    OBD Port

Where the f is the ODD port? I just spent 20 mins digging around looking for it and can’t find it anywhere!!! Under the steering wheel? Nope. Under the passenger side!? Nope. By the battery? Nope. In the boot? Nope. In the back? Nope. Or maybe I’m just a little blind / tired!!!

New software update last week - who’s had it?

Same here no issues since most recent update last week - but the non-starting issues was very intermittent for me so time will tell.

    Daily Driving

I agree with the above - it’s a great daily car to drive. I dailyed it all last year even a fair amount in winter and apart from a couple of unexpected slides - icy roads it’s been steadfast. I’ve got tour suspension and Goodyears. Tour suspension is great 95% of the time and I’ve only wanted...

    Newbie Questions

I’m 90 mins from my nearest dealer in UK. Reliability has been great for me. The first time I went back to the dealer was to swap the windows for non-privacy pack (Lotus error)… the second time was around 6 months after delivery for some recall work… The next time was for its annual service:)...

How hard is to change the rear window?

I had them swap the side glass for non-tinted due to a Lotus error. Took lots of wrangling to get them to pay - but they did. I left the rear lid glass as I liked that tinted. It cost Lotus £3k internally just to replace the side glass as you have to take off the rear bumper and rears wings...

    Privacy glass “double negative” option

I had a similar issue. I initially ordered privacy glass but then I changed the spec to remove the privacy glass with them over the phone. I had email confirmation that the privacy glass was removed. When my final checkout email arrived I hadn’t noticed but privacy glass had somehow been left...

    First service price

I had my first service last week. £430 all in. Took 2.5 hours. They also did 2 recent software updates… I like that they get a good eyeball of the cattle as the last time they had it they picked up a few things I hadn’t noticed… like a leaking steering rack. It needs some brake line recall...

📓 Journals My DV Emira and modifications

I have the same glass combination but at zero cost! I specced non-privacy (same issue as you not liking the side view) but they built it with privacy! Then once delivered they agreed to change the side glass back to non-privacy but keep the rear screen privacy…. Perfect combination IMHO.
