US I4 (400hp) has fake engine noise pumped through speakers

Lots of 4 cylinder cars unfortunately do this. When I had a Porsche 718 4 pot there was a dedicated speaker in the rear bulkhead to produce engine sounds. Once you find out about it, you can never un-hear it, and you get annoyed that the car is 'playing' engine sounds to you and it massively...

    Limited Telematics

Does anyone know how to get the car to show all the software versions? Or maybe it requires a Lotus Diagnostic tool? So many Emira issues seem to be software related it would be great to be able to know what software we need or is available.

DNA Tuning Stage 1 Obd Tune?

421bhp. Easy 500bhp with just a software remap. I think the Emira engine layout makes cooling a challenge.

DNA Tuning Stage 1 Obd Tune?

I don't believe the Emira ECU has been cracked. So the ECU needs to be replaced, or a 'tuning box' put in line to fake readings to trick the car into over performing (never liked this method and prefer a proper software re-map). Cars that see sizeable gains from just software and no hardware...

    2025 Pricing

Does this include next month's tax increases? If not it's going to be nearer £111K! Though I suspect most new orders won't spec up a new car like an FE so should be back under £100K for most cars. Still it's very expensive. I got my pre-registered FE with delivery mileage, basically brand new...

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Never ever ever ever let dealers wash your car. I'm sure they use an old sponge that has been used to wash every car on the lot that day and dropped on the floor countless times.

    Uneven tire pressure changes?

I think in part it's the two decimal places. If it rounded to one, you would be less aware of any differences. For example I might see 2.47 and 2.54 shown on the display. But in other cars you would see 2.5 for both.

    Redline

Haven driven other sports cars with a higher rev limit I was regularly hitting the rev limiter on the Emira in the first months of ownership -and boy don't you know it! Brutal cut in power and feels like you hit a wall. The problem I think is not the relatively low limit, but the lack of...

    Supercharger noise level.

One thing I've noticed with Emiras is inconsistency between them. I've driven 3 (2 before I bought mine), and though they weren't back to back, I swear the gearbox, steering and sound was different on all three. In particular the gearboxes varied significantly. I put this down to the hand build...

    Hitting the steering rack limit

Registered October 23, but it's a UK car that would have been built in the initial run (they over produced RHD cars having over estimated demand, and they've been providing 'new' cars from this pool of stored cars). You could be right that they've changed something at the factory. But if every...

US buyers interested in the V6 version- base V6 is now available.

The new prices in the UK are pretty significant. Using the configurator I built my FE V6 spec and the price came out at £106,705.00. I love the car, but there's no way I would pay that much if I was buying today. It's just too expensive now.

    Engine radiator burst !!!

That's quite a catastrophic failure of the hose. It does look like a failure of the hose, rather than an assembly error (which would show by a hose coming loose for example). 17K is quite a high mileage for an Emira. Many will be out of warranty when they hit this figure. Hopefully it's a rare...

    Feels slower than 400bhp

Reading above I think it is just power/torque delivery through the rev range. On the 718 you can put your foot down midway through the rev range and get that sudden torque rush. The Emira needs to be worked and kept at the top of the rev range (which is also part of the fun!).

US buyers interested in the V6 version- base V6 is now available.

In the UK there have been rumours that the V6 was finished for over a year now. Yet the configurator has recently been updated, and the V6 is still there along with new options.

    Feels slower than 400bhp

I also have a Porsche 718S, which I now find boring to drive Vs the Emira (but it's also never broken in 7 years unlike the Emira). When I get back in it after having driven the Emira a lot, it feels fast in comparison. It's only 350bhp Vs the 400bhp Emira, but without a doubt pulls harder when...

    Hitting the steering rack limit

Not a fault (I don't think?!), but has anyone noticed when you reach the limit of the steering rack (full lock turn for parking etc) it's a sudden clonk, rather than a soft damped stop?

    UK Paint Warranty- Escalations bribery!

It was always 5 years. That was both published on the website, and the information dealers were provided. It seems they quietly changed it to 3 years and hoped nobody would notice. Speaks volumes about their confidence in the paint quality, and how much it's costing them to fix the issues...

RHD V6 Cars, air noise behind your right ear

I checked today and confirmed the same. Push the clutch down and the air noise stops. Question is, is this normal? Or do both of our cars have a fault?

RHD V6 Cars, air noise behind your right ear

I think this is it. It's not related to vehicle speed, but the engine somehow. It's there at lower speeds. If it makes any difference mine has also had the doors replaced for paint blistering.

    UK Paint Warranty- Escalations bribery!

I was also told 5 years when I bought the car. Surely they cannot backtrack and change their mind just because it's costing them so much?

Yes right side. If you're LHD it would probably be your passenger that can hear it.

    UK Car insurance craziness?

Prices have dropped for car insurance in the UK over the last 6 months. Most should see their renewal as less than last year.

RHD V6 Cars, air noise behind your right ear

Maybe only applies to right hand drive cars. Behind my head to the right (and more pronounced if I push my head further back), I can hear what sounds like wind noise/air rushing/fan sound. At first I thought it was wind noise from the vehicle, but it doesn't increase with vehicle speed. It...

How many miles you got on your Emira!?

6500 miles. No real major issues. Doors were replaced because of the paint bubbling. The trim now fits loose around the doors, which leads to my minor (but annoying) issue.. RATTLES! The rear glass rattles, the front dash rattles when the car is warm, the roof lining makes a sort of popping...

Autocar - 911 GTS vs Emira

The steering is an odd criticism. I can't see what they said about the Porsche in that review, but as a Porsche owner (718 GTS) they are quite different. At lower speeds the Porsche is numb compared to the Emira, when you start to really push on, the Porsche comes more alive. That's the problem...

Infotainment HP / Torque survey (current stock record 423hp / 368 ft lbs)

I'm surprised to see it go over 400bhp. Surely it's not actually measuring the power, but just following a software algorithm (throttle position, RPM, gear values = X power) If you modify the car, even substantially, I doubt these calculated values will change at all.

    Emira track impressions

I've heard the sports suspension setup makes a fair difference on the track. There's a guy who drives the Nurburgring in a lot of cars, and he took a Tour Emira out. He (really) didn't like the suspension setup at all for track driving. (watch from 11:00 min) What made you go for the Tour...

    Emira Standard Wheel Alignment Settings?

I've just seen some settings have been posted earlier in the thread. Printing these off and taking them with me seems the solution. A word of caution here. It seems some third party garages have acquired Emira settings (but they still don't appear on the official alignment machines databases...

    Emira Standard Wheel Alignment Settings?

Trying to solve a slight right pull under hard acceleration I was going to get the alignment checked. I don't have a dealer nearby so tried a garage with a 'hunter' alignment system. However the Emira was not on their database of cars. They said they would 'have a go' but I respectfully passed...

    Slight right pull under acceleration

This is a good description of what I'm experiencing. It's just brief when you suddenly apply a lot of power, continued acceleration and it tracks straight. I'm noticing it less now, I think subconsciously I apply a small amount of opposite steering when I boot it.

    Slight right pull under acceleration

I have a RHD (if it matters) and notice a slight pull to the right with medium to high acceleration. It's quite minor and I didn't realise at first, but subconsciously I think I've been adding a touch of left wheel steer to counteract with some heavy right foot. When coming off the accelerator...
