The centre panel on the hood/Bonnet is waaaaay off centre. One side sits flush, and the other has a 1/2 inch gap. I'm assuming there should be 1/4 inch gap on each side. How this got past QC I have no idea. Hopefully it's a panel that can be adjusted easily.

It's even mentioned in the manual to expect it, and it's normal. The manual does also mention front and rear lights -but I've heard Lotus will swap out the rear lights if they do it.

I can get away with driving the Emira in regular shoes/trainers. But I have some Piloti shoes that I need for the Caterham, however they make driving in the Emira more enjoyable too. They're narrow and the thin flat soles offer good feedback.

So why didn't you buy your dream car? In the UK a nearly new Emira can be had for under £60K now. You could have side stepped from a 4.0 GTS without much cost?

Once they hit 3 years and the warranty ends £37K seems like a bargain. You would surely be bonkers to spend over £105K on a new one though! That's 70 Grand gone in a flash. Even Trump couldn't make a financial decision that bad.

If Lotus in the US shrinks or just pulls out altogether, then support and services might be a bigger issue. Who is going to install software updates or perform recalls? Do specialist servicing or warranty work? These are not drive and forget cars unfortunately. I would hate to lose Lotus dealers...
