Current Lotus Owners on the Forum?

I‘m still in that camp for 16 years now, VX220 Turbo (Lotus type 116) or as we had it in Germany as an Opel Speedster Turbo. Quite special, still after all these years. But maybe time to move on as I have to sell at least one of my cars (M2 or/and Speedster).

Emira should have started with 450hp.

To be realistic, Lotus would then have to offer the option „Touring with 450hp“ with exception of extensive use on the track or „Sport with 400hp“ and permission for use on track as thermal household will be acceptible for extended use on track. Which one would you choose then?

    Yellow Emira at Eletre launch

Well, that may be one reason, the other is that this Toyota V6 still doesn‘t use DI technique, direct injection is responsible for those emission particles which need to be avoided, like fine dust (particulate matter) and NOx.

    I'm back, but different....

Welcome back, Tom! :) You have been missed, looking forward to reading your postings again. One question already that hasn't been answered by now is: What's the weight of the FE forged wheels? Maybe you can get an answer from Lotus. :)

    My trip to Hethel

That would be interesting to know. The 20" lightweight forged wheels should weigh less than 11kg (24,2lbs), everything else would be a little disappointing to be honest. Anyone on here who's a little closer to Lotus who may start a new request on this? :sneaky:

    Touring vs Sport suspension

I think it really depends on the road's quality you have where you usually want to use the Emira for. I can understand that Touring suspension is the right for everyone, especially in UK, with bad paved b-roads to have and not tracking the car too often. Here in Germany, roads are mostly in...

A View on Quality and Specification

That's great news! One OEM manufacturer which supplies to Ferrari and also makes the seats for the Alpine is Sabelt. If they will come from them I'd be more than happy! :) https://www.sabelt.com/alpine I have driven both variants in the Alpine A110, the bucket seats and the comfort seats...

    What Car Audio

Thanks for posting this link. That was also my intention to show that Volvo (Geely) has worked together with Alpine on that FAS solution many years ago already. Now Lotus partners with KEF and it is quite probable that DSP and amps are not coming from KEF. So it could be that only the Uni-Q...

    What Car Audio

Fresh air woofer or fresh air subwoofer seems to be a solution which was already applied to the Volvo XC40. Here is another link to a review of that sound system from the XC40 (in german, so maybe use Google translate if you’re interested) ...

    Hello from Germany

Thanks! Well, I think Porsche is on another level. With it's GT-products they can literally sell anything with the letters GT on it. That equals to a sort of arrogance by now which means to me that I can't identify with Porsche and their current owners anymore. And I guess that's also why they...

    Hello from Germany

Yes, you're absolutely right! And I do hope that the Emira will be a visceral experience from the sound to the way it drives because it has to compete against my M2 and my Opel Speedster Turbo which it will replace then. I hope it will be a clear win for the Emira. It just has to make "Click"...

    Hello from Germany

Thank you! 🍻 Well, I was at the Emira Road Show on Wednesday. Ooh my God! When they reveiled it, I was kind of speechless. Sculptural, three-dimensional. It just works when you see it in the flesh. Away the doubts, especially the air intakes at the side profile. Which tend to look...

    Hello from Germany

For me it would probably be the V6 manual with sport suspension in Hethel yellow, black wheels. The only thing I‘m torn in between is caliper colour. 😂 Either yellow or black.

    Hello from Germany

Thanks Tom! To be honest the Evora was not on my shopping list, but I’ve nearly seen all the reviews on YouTube now. Especially the ones from Matt Farah were quite helpful to judge how the Emira will probably feel like. I was looking more into 981 Cayman GT4‘s until the Emira was presented. My...
