What car is more beautiful than an Emira?

I‘m a little biased, but I still think that the Vauxhall VX220 / Opel Speedster has a truly classic and timeless shape. It has a more masculine appeal compared to the more rounded Elises.

    They all do that Sir..

I also have that vibrating mirror issue, I also know that from my VX220. Thought it was quite usual. But it seems not all Emira owners facing this issue. Washer jets need to be realigned, I just forgot it every time I went to the service…

Oh, sorry. Wasn't aware of this.

    Emira track impressions

My thoughts are that even with sport suspension it's way too soft for the type of driving you do on tracks. For the track you probably need adjustable coilovers so there's considerably less roll.

comprehensive comparison of high performance tires (Conti Sport 7, Michelin 4s, Goodyear F1 LTS and others)

That‘s why I also stick to the LTS labeled Goodyears. Theo have been thoroughly tested by the Lotus team. And man are they fat! 😍 With 13500km the rears have 2-3mm left, so they will be replaced with new ones. The Conti Sport 7 seems to be a monster tire, 31m braking distance from 100-0kph...

comprehensive comparison of high performance tires (Conti Sport 7, Michelin 4s, Goodyear F1 LTS and others)

There is a very comprehensive review of high performance tires on a Lotus Emira V6 dony by AutoBild sportscars: https://www.autobild.de/produkttests/sommerreifen-test-245-35-r20-295-30-r20-28093083.html Only downside is it's in german, but interesting information nonetheless. Winner is...

What did you do to your Emira today?

Congratulations! How does it feel? These are 429whp. That must feel good. If you have a dragy or performancebox, please do a 100-200kph run, so I can relate how much faster it is in regards to standard. Thank you and have fun!

Did lotus rob us on horsepower?

Yes, I posted this video just to show that it can be done. To launch the Emira and get those times. Abusive use of revs is a killer recipe for drivetrain and clutch. For me personally it is much more relevant to have those figures like 100-200kph. I managed to get 11,2s with my Emira, my old...

An Owner's Review (1500 Miles on the clock)

Is it like "perfection kills emotion"? I mean even the Spyder RS should be very special to drive and you still drive the Lotus more often? I have only driven a 981 Cayman GT4 and that was quite something. But in the end I've gone with my Emira, although the GT4 might be the better driver's car...

What’s your latest victory with your Emira??

Thank you, you really have to be gentle with the gas. And you can also hear in that video that I‘m playing with the gas as the Torsen lsd always distributes the torque at the wheels differently. It‘s not as easy as it looks. 😌 I had a whole day and a lot of try and miss. In the end it was...

What’s your latest victory with your Emira??

I got it sideways. :D Last Monday I went for probably the last short drive this year before hybernation and it was such a joy to use it simply makes you smile. :)

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

Yes, different car. That is from a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo, in german an Opel Speedster. I also have a Torsen lsd installed and lots of torque which killed the tyre in the end. The thing is though that you are not aware of this kind of wear of the tyre because the car is so low and you do not...

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

Mines have seen roughly 8.000 miles And the rears are nearly done. I had once the same issue with my Speedster, I think it‘s a combination of a lot of camber at the rear and spinning the wheels at low speeds.

This photo could also have been at a sports-coty group-event… Too bad the Emira was left out on this kind of comparison test. But at least we made our own… 😄

How bad will the Emira depreciation be?

At least here in Germany you also have to differentiate: At mobile.de there are 12 Emira V6 First Edition with manual for sale. All of them are at 90k€ or above with tendency to go above 100k€ for low mileage cars. These are the most desired ones, then there are 9-10 V6 IPS variants with...

Driving experience: Which cars is it most similar to?

Do you have data to back this up? I can only tell you what I have experienced during my drift training and the Emira had very much in common with the 992 GT3 who also attended this training. I once also had the opportunity to drift 981 GT4 in a wet circle and it was way easier to initiate...

Driving experience: Which cars is it most similar to?

I think Thomas from Throttle House nailed it, he said: „When Miata meets Porsche“. And I would add Porsche 911 because of the weight distribution that Emira shares with the 911. Though Emira is more playful and less serious. Because when it comes to track times you will always lose against...

📓 Journals Hethel Yellow First Edition is mine now!

Thank you! :) I can tell you it was quite some work to be honest. The weight distribution is your enemy, you need to get some dynamic weight distribution to the front by braking otherwise it will simply just understeer. That means the lesser the grip level it gets even worse. It‘s doable, but...

📓 Journals Hethel Yellow First Edition is mine now!

On Satuday I went to a drift training with my Emira for the first time and it was very insightful. As always, it was a lot of fun, but it was also tiring, the training lasted the whole day (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). You clearly notice the weight distribution of 39:61 and that really doesn't make...

    ESC off issue

Just a short feedback. I tried the button and it's a little different to the above shown. When I am in track mode there are two signs in the driver's display, one is the yellow above "ESC off" and "ESC track" in brackets. If I switch ESC off then this second sign "ESC track" disappears and...
