How to change the mirror caps/covers?

I want to replace my mirror caps and I'm wondering if anyone has done it. GRP says it is a 10 minute job, but they have not posted any instructions. The Emira Service Manual, p. 17-43 says to remove the mirror glass and rear cover. Then the upper cover can be removed. I'm reluctant to remove...

    Dash Design

I take your point that it is a clean and sparse display. But I like round gauges and I would love an option for them on the Emira. I think there is a lot of unused space in the display. Today while driving my Emira I noted three areas with the + and nothing displayed. That space could be...

Air con known issue -no fix yet [EDIT: now with official fix]

Since my Emira is indoors for the winter and I live 150 miles from the dealership, I decided to make my own rubber air con resistor pack water shield. I bought a 36" x 36" rubber sheet (1/16" thick). I made a template using the photo in post #314. Here's a pdf if you want to use it. You will...

    Low dust brake pad options

It’s curious that the link you posted says the same pads fit front and rear. They are obviously not the same with 6 piston calipers in front and 4 piston calipers in back. I hope these work out. When I bought the Redstuff’s I looked for the Hawk PCs but I could not find a match. The Redstuff...

    Shift Knob Replacement

Yes so far. I just screw it on until it’s snug. I’ve only been able to drive it once since I made it. It might need some Loctite in the future.

    Shift Knob Replacement

I have some 2" wood balls left from another project. After living with the stock metal knob, its rough edges and hot/cold, I decided to try to make my own. I have a black Alcantara/red stitch interior, so I made a red stain for the shift knob. The threaded insert came from a kit that includes...

    North American Emira Problem Thread

Issue - clutch pedal clicks on release. Not a big deal, really just an annoyance. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue. If yes, did you find a fix. I've been under the dash, but I didn't see anything obvious. Build date - January 2024 Delivery date - May 2024 Miles - 1500 mi...

    V6 Supercharger Reference Guide

I just painted my cover and I did not re-oil the gasket when I put the cover back on. I did not clean the gasket either, so whatever oil was on it remained. I did clean the underside of the supercharger cover, covered it with paper and taped it around the edges. Some thoughts on the crinkle...

USA Emira Owners - Issue Severity Poll

Delivery 5/31. Build #1904. 1200 miles. V6 MT, touring suspension. Weather strip at the back edge of the front hood came loose. Double stick carpet tape fixed it. Bluetooth connects every time. No popping in speakers. I love it. Go find a FE and don't wait a year!!!!

Digital dashboard - anybody want gauges with more info?

I'm a bit disappointed with our dashboard displays. Besides a lot of empty unused space, I don't need a large number telling me what gear I'm in. I love to have a display with gauges with indicators, a bit traditional I know but I have always found that gauges tell me a lot at a glance. In...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

The 3D map displays in 2D. It worked briefly the first time or two that I tried it, then it stopped and now it stays in 2D mode. Does anyone know how to reset the map or some other fix?

    Stock Emira Wheels and Tires

YIKES, OH SH#T! I torqued mine to 105 ft lbs. It didn’t seem high since that’s what Porsche and BMW use. Is there a way to check for damaged threads? Will there be damage? I’m 36% over the spec.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Does anyone have a photo of the AC resistor cover? The TSB doesn’t really show what it looks like. I ask because mine was replaced before delivery. I asked the tech if he also installed the cover and he said it was already there. So either mine failed with the cover or I don’t have the cover...

Just did the first wash. I could have spent another couple hours cleaning some of the more obscure spots and removing leftover adhesive around the doors and on the wheels. I'm addicted, it is a blast to drive. The touring suspension is firmer than my 997, I think sport would be too much for...

I figured it out. I used a small screwdriver to pry the fob open a bit on the side with the embedded post (opposite the side with the emergency key). It spread the case enough that I could get the key ring over the post. It then easily snapped back together.

    Low dust brake pad options

The brand of pads that Perfect Brakes and others carry is EBC. My son runs them on his Elise and they are popular with BMW owners. Regarding low dust pads, I have Akebono on my BMW and Hawk Performance Ceramic on my 911. Both are very low dust and great for street use. EBC offers Redstuff...
