According to my Lotus dealer. Lotus did quite a good job on the standard back box, And found minimal gains there. The main gains(without changing the ECU) in sound and Hp were with the decat and cold air.

Fair enough. I guess I’m not too worried about warrenty issues. I doubt minor changes i do with the emira would cause any problems to the engine. I’ve had 4 lotus from new, and never had a day problem with engine or gbox/drivetrain. I’ve had some pretty serious engine and suspension mods done on...

Hi mate. I bought the miltek decat. The GRP decat is much the same but slightly cheaper. Prob best go that way as they deliver much quicker and cheaper. I had the lotus guys fit it, and they were surprised at how much it improved the performance and sound. No probs so far. Doubt there will be...

It's better than that. The throttle response on initial take off, and in gear initial throttle response in greatly improved to bring the engine to it power band is greatly improved with a simple fitment of the decat. The improved sound to me was just a bonus.

The main prob in Australia has been with the back box replacement. Currently there have been no probs(according to the Lotus dealer here) with Miltek. Some probs with some of the others. The 3rd cat del has been trouble free for all who have installed it here.

BTW. Has anyone here upgraded their standard air filter? If so, how did it go?

OK. I think I`d prefer to learn more about airflow through my supercharger. Too much reality gives me a sore A hole.:)

Yeah. I advise anyone doing this mod to also buy the gasket. I missed this and Lotus had to do a patch up of my OEM one. My bad.

What I would like to know, is how much HP is produced by just replacing the air filter with a better filter(GRP on for example) compared to replacing the whole box. Ie. Is most of the extra HP due to the filter upgrade, or is the box the main culprit.

How interesting. Anyone out there got some suggestions? I know GRP have a couple for sale.

It`s true. I fitted a cold air box on my Exige 410 here in Aus. It cost just over $650 fully fitted. The Aussie pesos. If I converted the Aerie product to $A, it would $1650 Aussie plus fitting. Theres FA chance any one here would pay that much for something that sounds a bit better and puts...

Not sure how a cold air filter could void the warrenty. It woukd be difficult to refuse a warrenty claim on a poor panel fit due to an after market cold air kit is fitted.

I`m still arguing with Lotus to pay towards a few psych sessions to manage the fact that I`m now invisible when I exit the car when I park in a busy street. They say the person does not qualify as a warranty issue. I argue that I feel like I`m part of the car when my arse is in the drivers...

The only real question should be. “Now that you have your Emira, do you agree with some of the negativity stated it the journalist reviews”. I find journalists just a bunch of propagandists. Who pays who to say what. Talk to the real people for the real answers to questions.

Yeah. Sounds like my experience of ownership. I fact, every other owner I personally know. After 6 months of daily driving, I've had zero issues. I think the negative things Iv`e hh]eard seem to come from people who have waited years before getting their cars, or people who haven't got theirs...

Yes. It’s interesting that you say the sound of the exhaust should get better after 2000miles. I noticed a significant sound escalation after about 2k miles. So much so that I’m kind of glad I didn’t swap over to sports exhaust system. Lotus australia that the factory actually did quite a good...

3000 miles.....no problems at all. Just lots of smiles. Here down under we have been driving these carsfor atleast 7 months and all Iv`e spoke to have had the same experience.
