    Emira Titanium exhaust interest...

Great question. I really like the look of this and the weight saving, but I actually like the sound of the standard exhaust and wouldn’t want anything that was substantially louder. Coming from a car that would wake the neighbours and set off car alarms when I exited my garage I’m enjoying the...

Ok, I'm saying it - the infotainment system sucks (but who cares)

I‘m no expert in this area so sorry if I’m misreading something, but Apple CarPlay definitely connects to the system via Bluetooth.

Ok, I'm saying it - the infotainment system sucks (but who cares)

I agree, and as I said before I use CarPlay and it works well. That doesn’t change the fact that we were told the car would have navigation and DAB radio, and cars going to the rest of the world have these features so it’s more than a little crap that our cars have simply had them “turned off”...

Ok, I'm saying it - the infotainment system sucks (but who cares)

Yes. That is exactly what we’re saying. There is no GPS function on Australian delivered cars, despite being told when we ordered the car that it would be there. Someone may have to post a pic of where the nav button is on other cars but where I believe it is is just a blank space on ours.

Ok, I'm saying it - the infotainment system sucks (but who cares)

Agree 100%. It is extraordinary that my $20k Golf has GPS but my $200k Lotus doesn’t. Carplay works quite well so it’s not the end of the world but I don’t understand the reasoning, especially as you say it was supposed to come on the car and everywhere else in the world has it.

Emira drag race- off the line like a stabbed rat

Looks wise? 1. Emira 2. Daylight It is interesting how much the manual box “hampers” the performance. If the Emira had a proper DCT such as in modern Ferraris the 0-60 time would surely be in the mid-high 3s.

Anyone got an Emira with zero issues?!

That’s because we live in the age of glorifying the victim. People get points for having a public whinge over minor inconveniences. Meanwhile owners who have no issues (or who don’t carry on over nothing) are too busy enjoying their car to waste time complaining on the internet. After spending...

    Emira weight saving

Yeah but then all you’ve got is a Porsche like everyone else. Yawn. I think the Emira is great the way it is, but can fully understand someone spending whatever it is to take it to 450hp+ and playing around with the suspension, maybe losing some weight etc. If you can afford to do that and...

    JUBU Emira 500 Power upgrade

I thought the gearbox was more the limiting factor than the engine. How would the gearbox etc. go with 500hp or would you need to do upgrades there as well?

anyone else worried about the negative attention? or has already received negative attention?

Jeepers, where do you guys live? You have to plan out every step of a journey just because it’s a nice car? I’ve driven a “desirable” car (ok, an old Ferrari and now the Emira so not exactly a Chiron or Zonda) for fifteen years and left them in every possible car park including supermarkets...

Email confirming ADAS included on i4

The only one of those I’d be interested in is the blind spot detection. The rest is “meh” in a sports car, for mine. I find that the vision is very good everywhere except over the shoulder where it’s much poorer than my old Ferrari. That seems to be a proper blind spot which would benefit...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

Great, thank you. Finally, is there a definite answer on where the negative should go? On the terminal or on one of the battery securing bolts, or it makes no difference and either is fine?

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

This is all rather confusing. I have a Ctek charger which came with the car. Haven’t used it yet but am thinking about hooking it up soon (incidentally I went away for three weeks, came back and the car started easily no issues at all). The manual for the charger states (see pic) Normal...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

Has anyone fitted the Öhlins TTX setup from Komo-Tec? I‘m very happy with the suspension as it is (sport, and the ride is certainly “busy” on really rough roads, but I’ve had cars that felt way harsher so it’s no problem). Just curious as to what the real world benefits might be.

Had the Emira 3 months it’s been in for repairs most of that time

Actually that’s exactly why I was told not to high pressure wash the Ferrari. It had nothing to do with paint, and everything to do with the electrics etc. Say what you like as to whether that’s a reasonable situation with a new expensive car in 2023, but I won’t be high pressure washing the Emira.
  17. Steve24

Had the Emira 3 months it’s been in for repairs most of that time

It sounds like at least some of the problem comes from high pressure washing. I remember with my Ferrari I was always told never to do that. And I won’t be doing that with the Emira either.

In your own words you described the Emira as “junk” and “too slow”, yet you still have a deposit down? How odd.

    Emira looks

As an ex Ferrari owner, and someone who has driven most of the recent Ferraris, I couldn’t disagree with your post more. This is the first Lotus since the Esprit that made me want to buy a Lotus. And obviously I’m not alone. Regardless how good the Elise / Exige / Evora may have been to drive...

    Emira looks

A new McLaren / Ferrari is 3-4 times the price of the Emira in Oz. You’re looking at $700k minimum on the road compared to $200k. I’ve driven a number of modern Ferraris and sold a classic Ferrari which I owned for 12 years to buy the Emira. Do I really think a new Ferrari or McLaren is worth...

📓 Journals Seneca Blue in Adelaide

Well I finally picked up mine today. Absolutely happy with it. Considering I’d never even seen one in the flesh until today I’m blown away. All this talk about wheel gap etc. is BS as far as I’m concerned. Looks perfect to me. Very happy.

Congratulations! Beautiful car. Mine apparently landed in Oz on the weekend so I should finally have it in a couple of weeks. I have to laugh though re your tracker comments. I didn’t spec the tracker as I was told it wouldn’t work here so would be a waste of money... Would definitely have...

    Panicum effusum here

I’m staying optimistic, but I am starting to get a bit pissed off. it’s not the delay that is bothering me so much (was supposed to be September delivery last year) as the total and utter lack of communication. Twice in the last couple of months I have called and spoken to Lotus Australia and...

    Further Delays

Interesting, thanks. I tend not to be the kind of person who whines constantly and threatens to cancel (no way I’d cancel, almost no matter what) because at the end of the day it’s just a car and there are plenty of other things to keep me amused, BUT I have to say (like so many others) that...

Four minute acceleration vid, from inside the car and out

So why put “0-200kmh 32 sec verified” in the chart, if that’s not what the 0-200kmh time for the car is? Pretty idiotic, by any measure.
  35. Steve24

Four minute acceleration vid, from inside the car and out

Laughable rubbish. Look at the last two lines. 0-200kmh in 32 seconds. 100-200kmh in 12.17 seconds. So, 0-100kmh must take 19.83 seconds. Ummm. Righto. Idiots.

Who has had a Test Drive , score from 1 to 10

All of that is fair enough. However, there is no way I would be benchmarking this car against a Yaris, or anything similar. For example, I had a 2020 Golf R wagon which I sold around 6 months ago (Ironically for exactly what I paid for it new). That was a great car, and by any objective measure...

Who has had a Test Drive , score from 1 to 10

Why wouldn’t you benchmark it at the price point? Isn‘t that what most potential buyers would do? If I’m looking at spending re $200k on a new sports car, I’m comparing it to other new cars I could buy at that price. I‘m not comparing it directly to an $800k car, which (you would hope) would...

Hmmm. I’m not going to bag @emiraspin because as I said before everyone’s view is equally valid and it is well worth listening to them all. And then making up your own mind... ;) But I can’t agree with the assertion that price doesn’t come into it. Of course it does, unless you’re a Big Time...

Who has had a Test Drive , score from 1 to 10

Agree 100%. I just sold my F355 which I’d owned for 11 years - partly to make way for the Emira. At no stage during that time did I wish the 355 was faster, except perhaps on the track (I tracked it four or five times) but it was still loads of fun on the track and for 99.9% of my driving the...

    V6 Rant

Agreed ^^ To be absolutely clear, I don’t care that much about straight line speed - I’ve had a Ferrari 355 for 11 years (which is slower than the Emira) and it has NEVER felt too slow to me. In fact I’d say the performance is about perfect for the road. Lots of fun, but not silly fast. Having...
