Dear Dealer:
Plug into OBD II port.
Turn on ignition.
Push “Enter”.
Cylinder deactivation complete.
Horsepower reduction complete.
Done.
Fill out customer paperwork.
Get Payment.
Hand the pencil over to the CARB guys and have them fill out the paperwork however they want it done! Then, do what they need done, or buy carbon credits from Tesla.
If this is true, and it did not pass vs. a paperwork holdup, the question is, what needs to be done to get it to pass? Again, the possibility of de-tuning comes into play! 😠
The infamous January 28th date is tomorrow! It IS a Sunday, so I don’t know how that date ever came up as “THE DAY”.
We shall see what happens next week, if anything! Fingers crossed 🤞!
The only problem with checking on the CARB site every day for the Emira’s approval is that CARB only posts updates periodically, maybe once a month, maybe less. Hopefully dealers don’t have to wait until the E.O. actually gets posted on this site!
Exactly! If they were close to getting CARB approval, they wouldn’t worry about releasing the cars in non-CARB states. I think we’re in for another delay! It sounds like we’re at the back of the line again.
Add a 4th cat and detune to 350 HP…..now we can have CARB approval. 😖
The spokesperson from “CARB” says, “This process can take up to 90 days”.
So Lotus has had 3 years!!!!! WTF is going on? Did they have to start all over again????? They should release the non-CARB state cars!
How would you have an insurance card on a car that hasn’t been delivered yet? And who would want that? Maybe a financial institution? Financing and purchasing comes before insuring. Am I missing something?
The 4 cars delivered so far to Scottsdale MaLaren/Lotus:
Mine (Nimbus Gray with black pack)
Hethel Yellow / no black pacK
Hethel Yellow with black pack
Dark Verdant
They expect a few more cars soon!
