Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

Your Main concerns about the Aston also apply to the Lotus, correct? So if that was enough to dissuade you from that car, how would you have ever been comfortable buying an Emira in the first place? :cautious:

Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

Lotus has forever been on the verge of bankruptcy. Of course they were going to have issues. It's not surprising, it's expected. We're lucky Lotus is even able to offer the Emira. Yet, it still manages a blend of looks / feedback / comfort that is niche and unmatched! It's an instant classic...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

There's the objective and the subjective. These reviews each have both components. Emira does 0-60 in approx. 4.2 and 5-60 in 4.7. Before driving the car, the user would already know if that's sufficiently fast or slow. The shifter has no play in the gates and feels mechanical / tactile. If...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I agree that there is lotus magic in the suspension tuning. I do think the comparison to BMW / Audi / Merc has some weight though. The tautness, firmness and well controlled body motions draw valid comparison to the way other German makers have historically tuned their vehicles. Yet there is an...

Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

I'm going to buy the Emira if it's the last thing I ever do! Nothing will stop me, not even bankruptcy! Worst care scenario I'll live in the car and vlog about it.

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

A lot of the feedback in this thread rivals that of any auto journalist! I agree with literally every single thing you said and loved how you explain it! Crap stereo, firm germanic ride quality that eats up bumps, odd pedal placement you immediately get used to, tactile not exactly smooth...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

It is more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow. This is actually a good argument for the tour suspension, as its lower limits will be more easily accessible than the sports.

Who has had a Test Drive , score from 1 to 10

Focusing on the sum of the parts, and how I felt after the test drive: I was all smiles and full of dopamine. As I've gotten older, I've lost excitement about cars in general and became a little jaded. The Emira has me feeling like a kid again. Speaks to the car enthusiast in me by looking cool...

    Factory PPF?

At the unveiling, a Lotus rep said that there would be multiple ppf options available, including factory or port installed, as well as different levels of coverage.

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Experience or not, that was one of the most detailed, thoughtful, accurate reviews I've seen so far! It felt like you were describing my test drive. And you gave actual driving impressions and reviewed it as a driving enthusiast vs. numbers person. People like us understand the mission of the...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Nicholasb, I don't appreciate being called a plant. And I did share complaints as well. On the other hand, your post is the only review so far in this thread with excessive negativity towards the Emira, and even then, your criticism is thin. You're the outlier, not me. You gloss over the good...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

The Emira offers truly "breath taking performance" and is for the drivers. The turn in, grip, power delivery, sound and the immediate response from the steering, sport suspension, brakes and clutch / shifter are stunningly phenomenal. Acceleration performance is more then adequate in my opinon...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Agreed, gotta drive the Emira and make your own decision. However, I wouldn't exactly say this thread contains different takes on the car. I haven't really observed differing opinions on the car as much as different assessments on how well the Emira fit each driver's main priorities, whether it...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

NicolasB, I respect your opinions. Yet, I'm truly flabbergasted by some of your comments. I don't understand how you could say a Tesla Model Y felt more fun on the gas pedal than an Emira. Teslas are some of the most boring cars I've ever driven. You get amazing torque with the gas pedal, and...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

By mid engine corner rotation, I was referring to the axis in which a car pivots as it rounds a corner. Rwd cars tend to rotate / pivot around the front axle in corners as the rear comes loose. With the engine behind the driver, that pivot point moves further back, closer to the drivers hip...

In short: Yes. The disclaimer: several years have passed since I've driven the GT3. My time in both cars was limited and I drove them in different environments. The GT3 had PDK, so the level of interaction with it is obviously not comparable to the manual Emira. It surely wasn't as immersive an...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I'll clarify. I didn't really mean that the clutch pedal is light in effort. I meant that it responds to a light touch. I think the relatively short throw of the clutch pedal gave me the initial perception that it's lighter than it really is. The engagement zone is at the very top of the clutch...

My automotive background; I have a good amount of experience on road courses and auto-crossing. I’ve never owned an automatic vehicle. I’ve never driven a Lotus. The closest I’ve gotten is experiencing a 991.1 GT3 PDK on track, which was magnificent. I have a deposit for an Emira V6 6MT. I...
