I contacted an OPC about a 911 I’m interested in. I wondered what the discount available might be- used car- given the current climate. It’s fair to say they were not minded to talk of 4 figure discounts. The chap I spoke to sounded like he was having a seizure when I suggested it.
I hope you are wrong Tom! If anyone in the UK reading this thread wants out of their car I’m interested. Think I’d prefer touring and nimbus for preference but at the right price I’ll buy any colour/suspension set up. As long at its sub 5k miles and not damaged.
Assuming dealers aren’t bidding...
If one of these gets advertised with low miles before Xmas, I’ll pay £58k. I think once these are sub £60k they look like real value. Past Xmas I’ll be hoping to pay closer to £55. My understanding is dealers won’t bid at all and just want SOR.
The cheapest AT car is just under £70k and it hasn’t sold immediately. Still available as at today. What’s the price point when these become hot property used? I’m guessing £60k.
I sat in a car recently and was really struck by the lack of under thigh support. Surprising as Volvo make excellent seats. Are the newest cars still using the same seats?
If the market ends up with 💯 plus final edition cars for sale, with a pool of buyers far lower in number, then the only differentiator is colour and nominally mileage. And of course, price.
When they go below £60k, they will end up shortlisted by more potential buyers as well. They surely go...
I gave real consideration to ordering on release. They are great looking cars and I’ve owned many Lotus cars in the past.
My first Elise held its value so well that when I sold it after a year, I bought another and lost next to nothing in the process.
The last few years have been kind to my...
This car is a total outlier. Lotus are going electric fast. New cars built in China. This car is almost a holdover from the past. I wonder what the people advertising lightly used cars in the classifieds are feeling about their asking price?
So, given Lotus dealers won’t buy them from private sellers, that leaves the outlet for them as Motorway, CarWow and the like or finding a private sale. The volume of cars currently for sale must really be demoralising if you want to sell now.
That’s interesting. I was coming to think no cars had changed hands privately. It’s seems likely that 23 plate cars all mostly buyable close to £70k.
My understanding is that dealers won’t buy them for stock, which is understandable given the fact cars are available new.
Cars used to lose the...
There is a yellow car advertised at £69995. Though I saw this car this morning as well. It’s just too much given the rate these are dropping at each month. Has anyone actually bought one in a private sale?
Does anyone here have experience recently of selling their car? Am I correct that franchised dealers won’t bid, just offer sale or return?
I don’t know the seller of the yellow car but considering it’s a private sale I’m sure £67 likely buys it.
The question for me and I’m sure many others, is...
From what I’ve read, the Touring chassis may work better for my use. That’s a cheap example but still £12k over WBAC. I don’t know if there is much clamour in the private market for one of these at £70k.
I’m in the UK and currently carless, which puts me in a good position to buy. I’m looking at Emira prices as well as some other, similar cars.
Whilst WBAC isn’t close to reality on a lot of cars, their bids are useful as a benchmark. Given the supply of Emira vs the number of potential buyers...
