do the tariffs add up on each other too? such that an emira coming to the US would actually be subject to a 35% tariff (= 10% [because UK] + 25% [because foreign car])? (sorry if this has been covered, i’m following a lot of these tariff threads on multiple car fora and can’t keep them...

if the US had one of the lowest tariff rates, that would mean US citizens paid out the LEAST in tariffs, wouldn’t it? of course, pertinent to the current conversation, now that tariffs on imports to the US are skyrocketing, US citizens will pay out a ton in tariffs, leading to a rapid decrease...

100% the US is voluntarily giving up worldwide goodwill and influence for others to step in and fill the gaps across the board. it is hastening the onset of the chinese century.

i just don’t see how ALL car pricing isn’t going to go up now. sure, it might not be the entire 25% tariff, but demand is going to skyrocket for used and non-tariffed cars; pricing is going to go nuts.

For sure. After the tariffs land, even used or previously available new cars are likely going to get more expensive. Demand for non-tariffed cars will likely soar, and dealers will likely ramp up prices in response. I'd hate to see it, but wouldn't be surprised, if used cars up to 3- to 5-years...

Well, currently, there is no Emira configurator to configure. Hopefully it means they're updating it? At least with some pricing for the base?
