Installation was done by my dealer prior to delivery of the car, but I was told the cable runs behind the roof liner, connecting to the front camera / main module. Can't comment on this, as we don't have Digital Audio Broadcasting in my country.

I have my rear-facing camera stuck on the cabin side of the inner window. No issues in 2+ years of operation. (the lens shown in the picture has been temporarily twisted down 90 degrees to attach a CPL filter) A sample of what you can see thru this 1080P (1920x1080) camera shown below...

The lights are stock (non-flickering to the human eye). The flickering is the camera's fault.

Just wondering how a piece of metal (same thickness steel) without the cutout "springs" would feel like, if it did make any difference. Stainless steel in the OEM dimensions would be nice and shiny but retain pretty much the same feel (if there is any difference). Gotta remove the grilles first...

How would different materials and thicknesses of the "mustache" plate change the shift feeling?

Is it just me or did anyone else think of a machined billet casing to replace the die cast ? :)

Have you considered using car skates? (lift car up, pull out of garage, open trunk, access battery)
