Thanks for giving the link, interesting one as settled out of court prior to the hearing was how I read that ? Mind often the case as it would cost so much to take to court, a lot don't bother.
The Ford GT came with a 2year no sale agreement every purchaser had to sign. Interestingly one very rich American took that to court and won. He then flipped his car for a significant profit.
However the Emira really isn't going to be making much in overs to be worth doing. Those on Autotrader...
To commit to an Order, you have to electroniclly sign it on-line in the UK. Presume something similar elsewhere. Once you have done that Lotus will refuse to return any deposit.
Your comments make a lot of sense, wouldn't be surprised at all. Of course doubt we will ever truly "know" but sure we can guess if this is right as time goes on.
Assuming you get your £5K back, big assumption, then it sounds like a missed opportunity for Lotus as you would have happily had a car at one point in that journey. Their loss then.
Thanks for posting this, if it's getting that much of a problem then getting a group together sounds a great idea. I have had my own problems with Lotus, now resolved. I'll post the story at some point soon, but it makes shocking reading.
Wise move to take Christmas to decide what you want to do.
For me, I'd want written confirmation of the full spec in the Invoice and in writing from Lotus before I'd commit to a build and then buying the car. It's very obvious their system is not to be trusted.
Shocking how this has been handled. I tried to change in January and was told I couldn't without putting delivery back. So actually didn't bother, mind it was very minor, ie change tyres, & not have Alcantara Steering wheel now 12 O'Clock stripe not available with FE cars. So I've seen that...
