As the original poster on this issue my concern was about Lotus's position on paint blistering after the car's warranty period has ended. I have been in touch with their (European) customer services in the last couple of weeks to see what their position is.

I wanted to get an update on a thread from some time ago regarding the well known paint blistering problem that affects some cars.
My car is ~2.5 years old and coming to the end of its warranty period. So far it has not been affected. Whether it's coincidence or not, it has been stored...
The rack on my car was replaced before I took ownership (apparantly). There has been no mention of contamination to the fluid.
I will be monitoring over the next few months to see if the issue persists.
I posted about this back in the summer and uploaded the video. It has since been back to the dealer twice to be looked at.
There were some rubber bushes that were missing that have been installed, and the steering rack bolts have been adjusted a number of times. They also replaced the undertry...
Got the car back today and it's no better than it was before in terms of the noise it's making when turning. I hope it's that undertray issue that can be resolved when the part is available :-(
Dealer has looked at the car this week.
They said the noise was being caused by two things:
Steering rack bolts not torqued to the correct value (the steering rack was replaced some time ago).
Undertray misalignment / creaking. They have placed an order for a new one, but they are on backorder...
I've just had the rain shield added to my Emira. Have been told it's more of a "mat" than a diverter. The dealer said that Lotus were working on a longer term solution / component that would be the subject of a second recall on it. There's also been a software update to the air con at the same...
